Today, we have a special feature for the dirtybird-affiliated talent known as Worthy. He’s given us the premiere of his outstanding re-work of ODB’s “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” that brings a striking bass-heavy ghetto-tech sound to the classic tune. Additionally, we’ve conducted a quick Q&A to catch up with him about his forthcoming releases, this re-work, and his other future plans. Have a listen below and check out the Q&A after the jump.

2014 should be a pretty exciting year for dirtybird OG, Worthy. With a full length album in his pocket (he’s currently looking for the right home for it), three to four months of free giveaways, and a pair of EPs in the works, it’d appear that Worthy has his production schedule on lock. His brand of Booty Bass has exploded alongside the dirtybird family as of late, and the big bassline sound doesn’t seem to be dissipating in the new year. Download “Get It” below and keep it locked on Worthy’s Soundcloud for more free tracks upcoming.
Coming off of a big summer touring, Anabatic Records boss, Worthy, has put two tracks together for the Flashin EP that has been bumping across dancefloors for the past few months. The title track “Flashin” hits big with the 808s while the B-side, “Trinidad,” incorporates some steel drum vibes along with a sinister, deep bassline. The EP has already been biggup’d by an all-star crew including everyone from DJ Hell and Shadow Child to Brodinski and Zed’s Dead. Pick it up on Beatport today.

2013 is shaping up to be a prospering year for 808s and ‘booty-tech’ basslines. The forefront label leading the charge Dirtybird walks hand in hand with their own Worthy‘s label Anabatic, casting light on fresh talent for the movement. Just released on Anabatic, Venice Beach native Ruff Hauser made his debut with his heavily supported Paul Bunyan EP featuring 3 hypnotizing tracks that are gaining some huge traction on their own. With the full dirtybird crew in favor, Ruff Hauser is giving away his own version of Justin Martin‘s “Ruff Stuff”, a personal VIP ‘Re-Ruff’ that strengthens the best samples from the original into its own jackin’ product. Grab it below, and pick up his new Paul Bunyan EP out now!

In another tasteful move, Claude VonStroke and the dirtybird imprint have launched a new release dubbed dirtybird Players, “a showcase of all the key artists and upcoming talent on the label” and “an up-front taste of the full length compilation and world tour coming this Spring,” according to head bird, Claude VonStroke. In this 3-track sampler, we hear tracks from the young bird, Justin Jay, the OG bird, Worthy, and a third track from Birmingham duo, Cause & Affect, which CvS actually played out for weeks as an unmarked demo before actually realizing who it came from. All three tracks, as you can imagine, are √+, so preview now and pick it up on Beatport next Wednesday the 23rd.
A secret weapon has been revealed…
