March is by far the busiest, yet most fun month of the year for dance music lovers and professionals. SXSW (Austin) and WMC (Miami) both host tens of thousands of enthusiasts from around the world, and this year we teamed up with our good friends TAVIK, a music driven lifestyle brand designed for active individuals engaged in modern beach culture, for an epic RV road trip across America, hitting stops from Los Angeles to Miami over the course of nearly two weeks, starting Tuesday, March 19th. With our very own GDD DJs Bones, Troy Kurtz, and Burn Unit in tow, we hopped on board a few of our friends’ showcases, as well as presented a couple ourselves. Here’s how it all went down…

Seth Troxler can’t be labeled or categorized. The Detroit-bred DJ and producer was voted #1 DJ on Resident Advisor last year and along with some of his closest buddies, runs the highly sought after dance label Visionquest. Our good friend and all-around rad dude Anibal Luque caught up with him in Miami during this year’s Winter Music Conference and tried to unravel some facets of his world. Catch the interview after the jump!

For a guy from Kentucky by way of Miami, Amtrac surely has an impeccably tight grasp on modern day dance music. Adding to his discography which already includes an album, some EPs, and about 30 remixes comes a four track EP titled The Scheme via Super Music Group. What really sticks out on this EP is Amtrac’s close attention to detail in the looping and pitch shifting of his vocals, which are very reminiscent to the legend MK‘s. If you’re going to be in Miami for WMC in March, Amtrac will be playing our party at Bardot alongside Alex Metric, Oliver, Aeroplane, UZ, and Destructo. You can pick up pre-sale tickets for that event here.

This past WMC, we had Yuksek slated to play at two of our parties. We were devastated to learn that the Frenchman had to cancel all his WMC dates to illness, so we’re elated to announce that he will finally be performing on the red carpet at Bardot this Thursday in Miami. Supporting Yuksek will be UK bliss-pop sensation Chad Valley, who is set to release his debut album ‘Young Hunger’ on October 30th. Pre-sale tickets for the event are $12. Building tremendous anticipation since WMC this march and its debut on Annie Mac’s show last month, Pleasurekraft‘s ‘Skeleton Key’ is out today on Great Stuff Records. With the help of house legend Green Velvet (aka Cajmere), The haunting tech house of Pleasurekraft take on the bouncey vocals of Green Velvet and create a rollercoaster ride bigger than either of them probably expected. This is one of my top tunes for the year already as well as coolest collaboration yet. I strongly suggest you pick up this tune on beatport, plus check out more of Pleasurekraft and Green Velvet below!

Continuing our showcase of young talent this week in the spirit of the Winter Music Conference and Miami Music Week, I am pleased to present to you the completion and debut EP of Kurtz & Bomber, aka GDD’s own Troy Kurtz and Miami based studio wiz Panic Bomber. Just in time for this weeks full fledged WMC plethora of the only the best in electronic music, the self-titled release features 3 original productions that drive to the deepest limits. The tracks thrive on a bassline-driven deep house direction that is both retrospective to early house music but fresh in its delivery. Here’s what the artists themselves had to say about the tracks:

“After an extremely positive response to our first track ‘Never Sleeping’, we were eager to get back in the studio to complete our EP. ‘Work on Me’ is a pumping bassline number that has been a secret weapon in our DJ sets lately. Just a few days ago, we finished our last track ‘Such a Rush’, which features both of our vocals. It’s an eerily dark theme song for the after-hours.”
