This Australian duo has been taking over the electronic world over the past year. The combination of the unique sounds of collaborators Flume and Emoh Instead have proven to be exactly what the people want. A act with releases spanning the past four years, What So Not is a sound you won’t want to miss at SNOWGLOBE 2014.
The long awaited and much talked about collab between our boy RL Grime and Emoh aka What So Not has finally surfaced on soundcloud, and the result does not stray far from the rumors… this track is a monster that we can expect to slay the festival circuit starting this month in Miami. Sinister horns flare atop a “big bad bass line” and are teased with the melodic vocal chanting “tell me.” Listen first below!

For this special 139th edition of The Dirt, we’ve teamed up with our homies, the Bixel Boys, who are quickly establishing themselves as ambassadors of the big-room underground sound. With their widely supported Black December EP (Sweat It Out!), recent Bring It On EP (Nervous Records), handful of addictive remixes/edits, and countless gigs in the bag, their career is gaining strong momentum that is sure to ride into 2014 and the many years to come. The Bixel Boys and myself have offered up our current favorite tracks touching on hip-hop, house, future bass, and more. ENJOY!

We’ve got 11 tracks selected by us for you spanning from some absolutely prime funky chops selected in true Phonat style, to the strangest subversions of trap and some sick black acid bootlegs from me. That, his thoughts on the tracks, and a handy little zip, coming at you!
