With support from the likes of Tiesto, Diplo, A-Trak, Chuckie, Bart B More, Dillon Francis, Style of Eye and more it’s hard to believe Wax Motif isn’t a house-hold name yet. Over the past year he has been refining his style with several top-notch remixes and his most recent work Rebecca & Fiona – Giliap (Wax Motif remix) leaves nothing to be desired. The track is a slice of electro-house heaven reminiscent of an ‘80s electro-pop film soundtrack. Combine that with the artful use of Swedish duo Rebecca & Fiona’s sultry vocals and you’ve got a track that will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day.  Big love for this Aussie.

Wax Motif, known to many as Waxy, has really built up and secured his new Big Room sound. A talented producer of many sub-genres of dance music, Waxy has released everything from GDD™ favorite “Go Deep” on Southern Fried Records to “Particle” on Laidback Luke‘s Mixmash Records. Lately it seems as if he’s found his niche in Electro suited for main stage, as evident in this firing new freebie released by the kind folks over at Fool’s Gold ClubHouse. “CTRL 66″ finds it’s home on the 2nd ClubHouse compilation, and it’s a biggie. The collective power  of Yo Ev & Mikey Digits aka Torro Torro are feeding off their momentum with the release of their remix for 2Edit’s ‘Datsun Tropicalia’, being released this week on AC Slater’s Party Like Us records. The toronto based duo struck gold with their Go Deep Remix for Wax Motif & Neoteric, earning them a surge of support and and a rapidly escalating buzz (and well deserved for some time). Ranging styles of big room electro, moombahton and all-around heavy bass, Torro Torro’s sinister production prove they are coming in to their own as a true signature sound.

Chromeo‘s ‘Night By Night’ has become a classic in the funky duo’s large arsenal of originals. In the past couple of years, it’s been remixed by scores of producers — including Skream and Siriusmo who made the cut for the original remix EP in 2010. Now, our good mate from Sydney has put his touch on it, adding in a pair of excellent breakdowns which lead into a banging Electro/Techno revision. If you’re looking to add some Chromeo into a heavier set, this remix from Wax Motif is the one for you. Download after the jump! Continue Reading

The classic track from Suzanne Vega and DNA, ‘Tom’s Diner,’ has been one of my favorites since I can remember. The catchy vocals from Suzanne Vega married with the dance sensibilities from DNA made this track an absolute smash, and over a decade later, Sydney native Anna Lunoe has teamed up with Wordlife for a collaborative cover of the original — only this time taking it a bit deeper and a bit dancier. Anna and Wordlife put together two mixes of the cover — a shorter, to-the-point version from Anna and a longer, extended version from Wordlife.

Sydney resident, Wax Motif, is a name you need to remember for 2012. A collaborator on some of my favorite tracks of 2011 including ‘Go Deep’ with Neoteric and ‘Love Ting’ with Anna Lunoe, Wax Motif has a massively appealing sound — seamlessly blending House and Disco with a catchy bassline to boot. His latest endeavor is a remix of ‘Dirty Talk’ by GDD™ fav, Oliver, and Waxy delivers. Get your 320 fix below.

What a butt, right? Anyway, I’d like to thank you all for your feedback on the recent Dirts that we’ve been putting up in past weeks. We know you guys all love your free music, but we also want to make you all aware of great new tracks that big time artists are playing out that you may not have heard of before. Therefore, we will be keeping The Dirt to tracks available for download, zipped up tight for your bulky pleasure. In addition, we will be starting up a new Artist Chart-type feature where artists will throw us 10-15 tracks that they’re fond of. Not sure what to name it yet, so if you guys have any ideas feel free to comment below. We’d love to hear your input.

This week, Troy Kurtz and I decided to do a double-team Dirt for you guys. Each of us took a completely different take on these tunes, so don’t be surprised that his 6 have absolutely no relation to my 6. TK has used his recent trip to ATL as an inspiration, and I just felt like it was necessary to go with some of the bigger House tracks that have been in heavy rotation since last Monday. Let us know what you think! Tunes after the jump. Continue Reading
