drezo

I’ve been a big believer in LA’s own Drezo for quite some time now.  For many, it seems like this guy came out of the woodwork with that huge “A Milli” edit.  Nay!  Homeboy has been slinging techno heaters since I was in a Fraternity (thats a long time).  Drezo has his own very unique spin on the techno/house marriage.  Some of the harder bass sequences you’ll hear dance around stunning production.  His latest is a remix of Vice’s track “Find A Way,” and you’ll have to find a way to keep your speakers from exploding when you jam to this one.  Think underground.  Like waaay underground.  Check out the track below and grab support Drezo by grabbing it on iTunes.

This month our friends at Solé Bicycles have partnered up with our pals over at Thump, the killer new electronic music and culture channel from VICE, to bring us a truly special fixtape. The godfather of funk, the french king of disco, the Ed Banger legend himself, Breakbot laid down close to 40 minutes of slow burning grooves. Although this tape is timeless, we highly urge you to throw it on now.

You can find the Download & Tracklisting HERE

[Giveaway] As an added bonus, a Solé bicycle designed by Breakbot himself will be given away through THUMP. Check out the contest details HERE for your chance to enter.

VICE’s Creators Project has put together a fantastic mini-documentary to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Four Tet‘s seminal album, Rounds, highlighting his influences and inspirations that helped him create the career-redirecting record. Kieran Hebdan AKA Four Tet explains many interesting facts about the album’s process not known until now, all accompanied by pleasant animated still photography.

Yesterday, VICE announced the launch of their newest platform. An electronic music culture website and youtube channel called THUMP. To kick off the launch they debuted several videos covering artists, music and behind the scenes perspectives – one of which mirrored my post last week on Claude VonStroke at Marquee. Check out the video above to see what it’s like behind the booth and a glimpse into the mind of the master mixer!
