Turbo Recordings artists, Clouds, have teamed up with our friends at The Well here in Los Angeles for a forward-thinking soundtrack to accompany the boutique store’s new Empyrean Layer campaign. Dark, futuristic, and cutting edge, Clouds’ track selection in this unique mix follows suit to the collection of pieces from visionary brands like UNIF, Skingraft, D by D, and more. Have a listen below and check out the full campaign lookbook here.
Duke Dumont is back in a big way with the second installment of his For Club Play Only series. He released the first EP in May on Turbo Recordings, and is following it up with two massive tracks called ‘No Money Blues’ and ‘The Giver’. You can pick both up on September 17th.
Visionquest not only makes up the supergroup of Seth Troxler, Lee Curtiss, Shaun Reeves, and Ryan Crosson, but it’s also a home to sounds that are supported by the foursome, like the new single from Canadian duo and VQ partypals, FOOTPRINTZ. “Dangers of the Mouth” is the first single from their forthcoming debut album, and Visionquest has started them off with a bang as they commission fellow Montrealean and Turbo mastermind, Tiga, for an uptempo rework that brings the dark, synthpop original off of its knees and into dancefloor territory. This great remix along with another rendition from Detroit’s Jimmy Edgar will be released exclusively on Beatport August 13th before its worldwide release on the 27th. √+Continue Reading
This week we welcome some youngbloods at VS at The Central in Santa Monica including the most junior member of the Dirtybird family, Justin Jay. We’ve been watching this guy for a bit now, and we’ve been so impressed by his original productions that we needed to bring him over to the West Side to showcase his unbelievable sound. In addition, we also have the meteorically rising Techno producer, Vakkuum, who is fresh off of a European tour, has releases on Tiga‘s Turbo Recordings, and has already gained support from Fake Blood, Brodi, Mumbai Science, and more. Come on out this week to hear the next generation of top talent.
Toronto-based duo, Gingy&Bordello, are definitely on board with the New Jack Techno movement, which is, of course, headed up by Turbo Recordings labelhead, Tiga. The New Jack Techno compilation was released mid-June on the Turbo imprint, and within the 10-track sampler was the hot new one from Gingy & Bordello titled, ‘Iron & Water,’ which will be seeing its release along with two additional originals this Monday, July 9th. The guys just did an interview with Playground Magazine and put together a jackin’ hour long mix to accompany it. Stream the EP and download the mix after the jump! Continue Reading
Turbo Recordings French Techno antihero Gesaffelstein never ceases to amaze. He’s been consistently rising to the top with his elegant but dark & violent thumping sounds. I must warn you… his music might provoke stripping, killing and/or flesh eating >:).
Clouds‘ new EP, Optic, dropped the other day on Turbo Recordings and it’s unsurprisingly impressive. With Optic, the duo brings us more massive, bass heavy hits that continue to wreak havoc on dance floors across the globe. While Clouds’ particular sound hasn’t changed much, this EP shows a little more maturity in their production decisions. I’m particularly vibing to the title track, Optic.

The power duo known as ZZT picked up heaps of attention this year when Tiga and Zombie Nation unleashed the massive Zzafrika remix package, and now the guys are back with a new single, ‘Vulkan Alarm!,’ as they prepare to release their debut album, Partys Over World, this 7th of November on Turbo Recordings. As a thank you to their fans on Facebook, the guys are giving away Proxy‘s take on the original, which is naturally inundated with the Russian’s dark, crunchy sound that you’d expect from the Mako Records label boss. If you don’t already, go give ZZT a ‘Like’ on Facebook and check out Jan Driver‘s banging remix as well while you’re over there.
AYE! AYE! AYYYYEEEE! This Thursday we will be celebrating cinco de mayo in the GDD fashion, bringing you yet another rockin VERSUS party at The Central in Santa Monica. This week, we have a real treat for you, as we host the Bang Gang Deejays tour with a special perfomance as their side project for Turbo Records, The Finger Prince. On top of that, we also welcome Pasternak from Lemonade, all the way from NYC. If that doesn’t make you drop your chalupa then we’ll have you know that Danceism wild child Ben Oprstu will be laying down a set, along with Dub Frequency’s Bixel Boys and your one and only GDD groove-master A.Rod.
