I’ve got to be honest here– it’s pretty neat to see your best buds produce music you really love, particularly when it’s one of GDD’s own. The first time Tropicool played this out, I leaned over and asked him what the Hell this remix was. You can imagine my delight when he replied, “an old analog Juno and some incredible stems.” You sly bastard.
His signature touch of feel-good cosmic radiation we know from his mixtapes and Waves ≠ Raves series shines through into his production as well, which that fabulous, fat bassline punches over all the way through. I’m not huge on disco, but I’m a sucker for a big sexy groove when I can get it, and this one’s got me hooked. Pour yourself a glass of rum and tell people it’s iced tea, there’s no turning back now… the funk has been unleashed.
Our very own Tropicool has released his latest tape which might be his smoothest musical mosaic to date. Tropicool is known for his extensive and carefully curated tracklistings always curating a very special & intimate vibe with just the right amount of funk. This tape in particular transitions from funk, into piano driven sexy house, and ends with some very deep tones sure to have you swimming in your own puddle. Deeper than his previous work, but just as infectious, this one is perfect served with a whiskey and reserved for an intimate occasion. Enjoy responsibly.
A new year is here and Tropicool and I are back with the very first dirt of 2014! Check out the chill vibes from Ryan Hemsworth, some acid disco from Flying Horse, and a great remix of Peaches by our buds The Golden Pony. Tropicool has added some fancy treats including a re-work of Miley’s terrible voice yet amazing tongue, and a very deep, maybe even the deepest track our friend Mickey has ever produced after the jump!

Winter is a strangely curious season. The sun retreats to the southern hemisphere more frequently, the darkness consumes you much earlier than you are prepared to accept, and the emotionally numbing temperatures lead you on a search for things that make you feel something more. Someone to share these dark times with, something potent to spark up, or sounds that reach out to your inner being in ways that vivacious summer anthems can not. Tropicool has come to be known for his sensational summer motif but instead steps into his winter onesie to bring you a compilation mix of sounds that are meant to be shared, be it with good company or something rolled up, to help guide you through the winter season. The warm crackle of a fire, a stiff glass of whiskey, the stench of fresh pine, your favorite pair of wool socks, and Long Drags & Winter Shags Vol. 2.
For those looking to reminisce, Volume 1 is also available to stream.
