GDD™ Presents CONTROL at the Avalon w/ Treasure Fingers + BURNS!

After a one week hiatus, CONTROL is back with a dancey lineup featuring two big shots of Disco House, the DnB gone Disco producer from Atlanta known as Treasure Fingers and one of the biggest up and coming names in the genre, BURNS. Unfortunately, a disco rollerskate boogie is most likely not allowed inside the Avalon in Hollywood on Friday night, but be sure to expect one happy crowd and two sensational DJs going all night.

Charles I feat. Nelson Mandela


Adding to his long list of lifetime achievements, Nelson Mandela can officially add electro collaborator to his resume. Nelson Mandela, a long time fan of the underground South African electro scene and frequent peruser of electronic music blogs, has teamed up with Charles I (one of our boys over at Our Electric Generation) for a brand new original track called “Freedom”. For a track that clocks in at under a tidy three minutes, this is some pretty epic shit (right down to the bleepy, Underworld style breakdown).

///BONES at Voyeur in San Diego Tonight w/ Treasure Fingers + Mr. White!

Hey everybody down south! We couldn’t get enough of San Diego so we’re headed back for a killer show at Voyeur tonight with Treasure Fingers, Mr. White, and ///BONES, thrown by the great people at LED Presents.

We’ll be hosting it along with our good friend from TheMixster.com, so come on out to the Gaslamp district for some ol’ fashioned Fool’s Gold fun.
And because I couldn’t give you a post without a tune today, here is a hot hot house track that I’ve been rockin’ in the headphones today. Big hands in the air moments. Gotta love it.

Rock Lights.

Scion A/V is at it again with their latest release by Chicago house master Roy Davis, Jr. ft. Bear Who? The release comes along with some super groovy remixes from GDD™ favorites including Treasure Fingers, Mighty Mouse, and Junior Sanchez. Give these guys a listen and casually sip that Corona with lime. Happy Cinco de Mayo to all of you!

FEEL GOOD FRIDAYS

Deep breath. You’re almost there. Well, once you clear the rush hour traffic and take your dog to relieve himself, then you can practically taste that first cocktail of what’s sure to be an eventful weekend. I might be a bit of hypocrite for doing this as I generally don’t post a mishmash of different songs by different bros, but for some reason I’m feeling all kinds of sprightly today. *wanky ‘highly recommend’ sidebar to download all tracks*

• Treasure Fingers – What Am I Supposed to Do
Just nabbed this brand new discoball destroyer from Treasure Fingers over at THE FADER. I think Craze just said it best via twitter today “this tune will help you get laid”. Either that, or be on your way to a triple digit bar tab.

• Duck Sauce – The Motion
The aftermath of WMC left piles of ash and a mouthful of rumors swirling about Miami like the winds after a hurricane. However, many legitimate sources said Duck Sauce played the set of the entire conference at the Fools Gold Showcase. Two words: Barbara Streisand.

• Gucci Mane – Lemonade (White Lions Remix)
You’ve heard of Gucci Mane. You haven’t heard of White Lions. Remember Sean Roman? He’s in a little side-project with some fellow Canadians that form this housey/disco outfit. The best part of this song: they stripped the cheese and added a crispy topping of groove.

• Oliver Twizt – Another Step (Original Mix)
Another talented Dutch producer, however, you won’t find any bleepy car alarms in this Oliver Twizt tune. Loving the Aretha Franklin inspired minimal/house. Suited for late night no pants dance at your place after the disco.

follow the golden fox.

After having an extremely late night last night, I’ve been in a very mellow mood all day and I stumbled across something truly amazing. The Golden Filter is an electro-dance duo out of New York and has released the single “Solid Gold” on Dummy Records in the United Kingdom. Their songs are incredibly soothing and inspire the imagination with soft, hypnotic synthesizers and Penelope’s beautiful vocals. If you are anywhere near the LA area, please check out their set at the Avalon with Treasure Fingers on July 3rd. Tune in.
