“The waves ≠ raves consists of hand-picked gems that inspire us, tickling and tempting our creative juices. Some are old, some are new, but it is what we are listening to now. They are groovey, flowing, and sun-kissed just like that perfect wave. They are uplifting and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. They sound the best with a babe in one hand, a cold brewski in the other, and the sand beneath your feet. Stay Dreamy.”
Foreword from Viceroy:
While the music market continues to grow into an ‘over saturation’ of electronic blogs, the majority of them seem to only know how to post those same absolute jams that their competition managed to post in previous features. That alone is not enough to make a blog stand out in my mind. I have been and always will be a huge fan of Gotta Dance Dirty. Why? They not only have the most up to date jams from the big dogs, but they support up and coming artists too. How many well-established blogs do that? I can’t name many. Supporting my summery beats since I started in February, Gotta Dance Dirty has given me the honor of hand selecting the tracks for Waves ≠ Raves Mixtape Vol. 14. Looking for some sun-kissed disco to cap off your summer fun? Look no further.
The well known veteran Treasure Fingers (Ashley Jones) has been providing the beats in clubs for over a decade now, firstly as part of the drum & bass group, Evol Intent and now solo as Treasure Fingers. The man is known for his groovy basslines, melodic synth lines and a disco feel that certainly has become staple in the EDM scene.
And if your a fan, then I have a gift for you…
Treasure Fingers Spring 2011 mix was recorded live in good ole England. The mix is exactly what you would expect from the disco giant, packed full of danceable grooves, some good grit and an overall flow that has become hard to achieve in today’s scene.
Don’t forget to catch Treasure Fingers live poolside at The Love Festival Las Vegas at the Palms Casino Resort on Memorial Day Weekend!

2010 saw Will Eastman’s debut single, “Feelin’” reverberate on dance floors around the world. His work caught the attention of people all over the world and even landed on Fatboy Slim’s “Weapons of Choice” Beatport Chart and Kissy Sell Out’s BBC Radio One playlist.
This past week Eastman unleashed his follow-up single. This time he collaborated with fellow Washington, DC producer Micah Vellian and Baltimore emcee TT The Artist. The result is “No Sleep,” a vocal workout over a synthed-out funk groove.
Heavyweights Treasure Fingers and Bird Peterson deliver monster, peak time remixes, just as you’ve come to expect from them, while Lazaro Casanova brings a sexy late-night slow-burner. Loopjack (the alias of Toronto’s John Roman) comes with some Chicago flavor and Germany’s Tagteam Terror pump things up with their high-energy mix. For the Dub mix Eastman and Vellian take the Original back to 1984 with some Axle Foley action.
Soundcloud + Free Exclusive download of one of the “No Sleep” remixes after the Jump. I promise you the remix is complete fire!
After a one week hiatus, CONTROL is back with a dancey lineup featuring two big shots of Disco House, the DnB gone Disco producer from Atlanta known as Treasure Fingers and one of the biggest up and coming names in the genre, BURNS. Unfortunately, a disco rollerskate boogie is most likely not allowed inside the Avalon in Hollywood on Friday night, but be sure to expect one happy crowd and two sensational DJs going all night.
Please RSVP names to JONAH@GOTTADANCEDIRTY.COM to be on our discount ticket list for the evening. All names must be submitted before 5:30pm Friday night.

Adding to his long list of lifetime achievements, Nelson Mandela can officially add electro collaborator to his resume. Nelson Mandela, a long time fan of the underground South African electro scene and frequent peruser of electronic music blogs, has teamed up with Charles I (one of our boys over at Our Electric Generation) for a brand new original track called “Freedom”. For a track that clocks in at under a tidy three minutes, this is some pretty epic shit (right down to the bleepy, Underworld style breakdown).
A little harder than those above. Barletta is now singing on his tracks with his girlfriend and they go by the name Easy. Pretty neat! You might remember the original track from ‘It’s All Gone Pete Tong’.
