It seems that the Mexicali G house duo Thee Cool Cats have found a home in Toolroom Records. Following up the label’s BPM showcase and inclusion in their massive Miami Underground compilation, they answer back with their solo PERCUSSIVE EP via the sub-label Toolroom Trax. The 2 tracks “Percussive” and “Hustle Dance” boast jackin tech house grooves fit for peak times all the way to the after-hours. Make no mistake… the EP is already being supported by the likes of Mark Knight, Chus & Ceballos, Hannah Wants, Shiba San, Amine Edge & Dance, Renato Cohen, Sonny Fodera, Bontan, Volkoder, and more. Listen below and grab it today on Beatport!

weiss - our love ep

I’m very excited to premiere a huge track from London based producer Weiss, today.  ”The Light” comes as a b-side addition to “Our Love” — premiered by Mixmag just last week.  Released via Toolroom Records, these two tracks make up the “Our Love” EP, and both carry a certain classic house vibe and appeal.  The beauty of “The Light” is it’s simplicity, in which the vocal samples play nicely with a full, dance floor friendly bass line.  Stream the track below, and read more to check out our exclusive interview with Weiss after the jump.

Our buddy Doorly has been on another tear this summer — whipping up a GREAT new EP with the legend, Cajmere, for Cajual Records along with 5 new originals included in a new Toolroom Knights compilation, all while maintaining his annual summer residency at Ibiza Rocks. This week, the multifaceted producer continues his streak as we hear an exclusive preview of his new remix of Harry Romero‘s Ibiza anthem, “Tania.” Drifting the Balearic classic a little bit towards the deep end, Doorly creates a reimagined version that evokes a sense of late night/early morning play while preserving the original vibe of the early 00s House mover. This remix, along with two others from Taras Van De Voorde and Romero himself, will be available via Toolroom Records on July 28th.

Over the weekend Pete Tong and his worldwide broadcast on BBC Radio 1 debuted a massive remix from the Toolroom Records head honcho, Mark Knight. The Basement Jaxx and their new tune, “Never Say Never,” was the poison of choice for Knight as he induces a whirlpool in the deep end with a bass synth medley thats dance floor ready at first chord. Get familiar, dance a bit, and cop it HERE.

Listen to some tunes you probably will hear on Saturday night…

2013 marks the 10-year anniversary of Toolroom Records — the UK-based imprint founded by the legendary Mark Knight. To celebrate the seminal benchmark in the label’s history, Toolroom has gone back through the years and handpicked 100 tracks from the back catalogue for a historical compilation of massive proportions.

Additionally, Toolroom has selected a number of all-star singles to re-release along with remixes, including this 2006 smash from Dave Spoon titled “At Night.” Spoon, now known to most “new” dance fans as Shadow Child, has called upon fellow Brit T.Williams to help him remix the Electro/House/Tech crossover hit, adding in a fresh bassline and some Garage percussion.

Find a ton of great content on Toolroom Ten here, and have a listen to the new remix below.

Our mate Doorly is back at it with an exclusive track for Toolroom Records‘ 2013 Ibiza Compilation. On his Soundcloud he says he was going for something a little tougher, and the industrial/techy synth line certainly speaks volumes to that. Anxious sirens scattered throughout build anticipation as analog sounds creep up in the background to bring the track to its climax. Its anti-drop fits perfectly with the minimalistic vibes this track gives off, and be sure to cop the single on Doorly’s trackitdown page.

Good news this morning from the Hamburg duo, Digitalism. The guys will be embarking on a brand new live tour starting next week in San Francisco, hitting a total of nine cities in less than two weeks. Jence and Isi reached back to their Rock roots for this US tour, booking smaller, live music venues like the Independent in SF, the Bluebird Theater in Denver, and the legendary Troubadour in Los Angeles. Additionally, the guys have two upcoming remixes for Bloc Party and The Rapture on Toolroom, which leads us to believe that Digitalism is coming back to their Rock/Indie meets Electronic origins. Excellent.

German duo Digitalism are no strangers to crafting anthemic tracks for the masses, as 2005′s worldwide hit ‘Zdarlight’ proved. Now after 7 years, Toolroom Records have dusted ‘Zdarlight’ off and unleashed a serious rework by two producers justified enough to take on such a seminal electronic classic: Fedde le Grand & Deniz Koyu.

With so much talent combined under one production, Fedde le Grand and Koyu’s ability to maintain the cool integrity of the original whilst offering a massive on-trend rework that really keeps the feet on the dance floor. Keep the festival spirits alive as the season winds in with this huge release from Toolroom.

*Make sure to pick up the tune on Beatport, and see Fedde Le Grand and Deniz Koyu performing this weekend @ Nocturnal Wonderland 2012!

D. Ramirez has always been a favorite producer of mine. His style can be characterized by clean-lined production with an edgy take on House and Tech House, exemplified here in his newest EP released on Toolroom this week, Get Down. The two-track release features the title track, ‘Get Down,’ which leans to the dark-yet-bouncy Tech House taste of D. Ramirez, as well as ‘Won’t Give Up,’ which reaches into the realm of vocal, Big Room Tech. Both of these impressive tracks are featured in the new Deep Dark Vocal Tech Mix from D. Ramirez along with a slew of great Tech jams from Maceo Plex, Subb-An, Jamie Jones, and more. Preview the EP and download the mix below. Continue Reading
