A-trak‘s Tuna Melt EP unloaded a stacked collab package at the end of last year, with the self titled EP single w/ Tommy Trash taking things to festival fathoms. With remixes on deck, our Toronto-based friend and familiar Grandtheft has served up the trap treatment on this big room monster and the product is down right naaaasty. And wait, he’s giving it away for free? DAYUM SON, where’d you find this sandwich.

One of the most established Aussie DJs on the US scene, he recently moved to LA in early 2012. Like his fellow Aussies Hook N Sling and his old flatmate Tommy Trash, Bass Kleph has taken the Aussie irreverence and humility and turned it into something the American scene has always had loved – pure, heads down fun, serious technical skill, and music that doesn’t always take itself too seriously.

But that’s not the whole story with the Kleph, as GDD has discovered. In fact, his most recent track is a rare emo moment: a number he wrote to mark the end of a long relationship. Called Make Me Forget, it’s a very personal statement: the first time he’s sung on his own tracks, and a unusually melancholy lyric for a man who’s usually a very sunny guy.

“Make Me Forget was about missing my ex,” he says. Continue Reading

After the chaos, destruction and delays that the east coast experienced with Sandy, I wanted to reminisce about the fantastic events I saw before the storm and hope that, with power restored and aid dispatched,  all these great events can continue. Lets all cross our fingers that this Nor’easter headed our way doesn’t worsen the situation!

It should be fairly well-known now that electronic music pioneer, Moby, is one of our collective all-time favorite artists. He’s been making beats and breaking molds for decades, and his ongoing relevancy is a testament to how innovative his productions truly are. On that note, the hairless wonder released a masterful single titled ‘After’ this past fall, collecting an impressive remix roster including Tommy Trash and Tim Mason, amongst others. Now, there seems to be a surplus of good remixes that couldn’t fit on the EP, including this dichotomously heavy/light take by M83 collaborator and Mellowdrone frontman, Jonathan Bates; producing under the side project, Big Black Delta. Have a listen and check out our interview with Moby at Electric Zoo here!

Moby’s music video for ‘After’ won the Saatchi & Saatchi video contest in Cannes this year.
