The clouds have finally broken as HARD maestro Destructo has finally dropped his much anticipated HIGHER EP today, being released on both OWSLA and Boysnoize Records (and making for one hell of a debut). CO-produced with U-Tern, The EP single features a special extended mix, along with 2 monstrous remixes from Tommy Trash and Brodinski, both flexing their styles respectively onto the already anthemic original. The package also includes the B side “2112”, which highlights Destructo’s obsession with technology and futuristic sounds as the bouncing bass ebbs and flows from beginning to end.
Listen below, and make sure to pick up the EP today on Beatport!
Last year’s collab track “Shake & Bake” from Nom De Strip & Bones spread like wildfire after support from the likes of Diplo, Tommy Trash and Chris Lake helped skyrocket its exposure – so far as to catch the attention of Australian diva Kylie Minogue, who loved it so much she insisted on recreating it to be her own sexy original. With the approval of NDS & Bones and the help of Chris Lake, the new version was just released on Nom’s soundcloud yesterday (written by The Dream), with already an incredible response at over 150k plays.
Check it out below, and be on the lookout for its official release!

A-trak‘s Tuna Melt EP unloaded a stacked collab package at the end of last year, with the self titled EP single w/ Tommy Trash taking things to festival fathoms. With remixes on deck, our Toronto-based friend and familiar Grandtheft has served up the trap treatment on this big room monster and the product is down right naaaasty. And wait, he’s giving it away for free? DAYUM SON, where’d you find this sandwich.
Have you noticed … the Australians? They’re everywhere in LA now – playing our music, drinking our beer, and loving our sunshine and palm trees. Or so recent import Bass Kleph says. One of the most established Aussie DJs on the US scene, he recently moved to LA in early 2012. Like his fellow Aussies Hook N Sling and his old flatmate Tommy Trash, Bass Kleph has taken the Aussie irreverence and humility and turned it into something the American scene has always had loved – pure, heads down fun, serious technical skill, and music that doesn’t always take itself too seriously.
But that’s not the whole story with the Kleph, as GDD has discovered. In fact, his most recent track is a rare emo moment: a number he wrote to mark the end of a long relationship. Called Make Me Forget, it’s a very personal statement: the first time he’s sung on his own tracks, and a unusually melancholy lyric for a man who’s usually a very sunny guy.
“Make Me Forget was about missing my ex,” he says. Continue Reading
After the chaos, destruction and delays that the east coast experienced with Sandy, I wanted to reminisce about the fantastic events I saw before the storm and hope that, with power restored and aid dispatched, all these great events can continue. Lets all cross our fingers that this Nor’easter headed our way doesn’t worsen the situation!
Tre +Korbz put together a playlist to help you in your wars against sobriety and dehydration on this long 4th of July weekend . Tre’s tracks are full of deep, funky, and undeniably groovy vibes that will keep you going late into the night, while Korbz’s tracks are perfect for late mornings, dark sunglasses, and spiked coffee.
