GDD™ Premiere: Light Year – Freekno: A Check Yo Ponytail Mixtape

Aussie Techno-head, Light Year, will be in Los Angeles this Thursday at the Echoplex in Silver Lake for the big-time lineup that the good folks at Check Yo Ponytail have put together including Tiga, Damian Lazarus, and of course, Light Year. It’s going to be a night of massive tunage, and the mate from Sydney has put together an exclusive mix to coincide with the party. Featuring tracks from Green Velvet & Harvard Bass, French Fries, Moodymann, and more, this mix seems to be the Techno equivalent to the Luvstep mix series from Dirty South Joe & Flufftronix. Tiga on BBC 6Music

The other day Tiga made his return to his BBC 6music residency for the first time this year with a mix recorded unsuspectingly in Goa, India. Labeled as a ‘Trance’ special, Tiga characteristically takes the genre in his own direction for a mix unlike any you’ve heard before.

TAI – At The Disco 2012 Mixtape

German House and Electro producer, TAI, just came out with a new mix last week for Dim Mak Records titled, At The Disco, but don’t let the name fool you. Yes, there are definitely some Disco jams peppered inside of the mix, but you better believe that TAI incorporated his signature heavy sound in there with new tracks from Tiga, Gesaffelstein, Brodinski, and of course, TAI himself.

GDD™ presents VS. (12/15) ft. DROID BEHAVIOR

It’s about time that GDD™ and DANCEiSM welcome back our fellow LA collective, DROID BEHAVIOR, for yet another night of the best Techno in the city. Each time we welcome the Droid Behavior crew to VS., The Central in Santa Monica turns into a dark, deep sanctuary for those who enjoy some great Techno, Electro, and occasionally some sweet Acid House. This week we’ll have Audio Injection and Vik Carrillo from the DB team, as well as Alex Pastor and Andrew Serrano warming it up. Azari & III Announce New Single, Global Album Release, and UK Tour Dates

The buzzing quartet from Toronto known as Azari & III have been undeniably one of the breakthrough acts of 2011. With their debut album out now on limited edition vinyl and digital retailers and the global and physical release coming on January 22nd through Island Records, Azari & III have a busy several months ahead of them. In advance of the global release, the guys will be releasing another single, ‘Reckless (With Your Love),’ on January 15th from the self-titled album, which will be accompanied by an all-star remix team including new versions from Riva Starr, Julio Bashmore, and Tiga, as well as a radio edit and mix from super-producer Paul Epworth. Yes, I really just said all of those names in the same sentence. Before these release dates, Azari & III will be touring the UK with a mindblowing live show that has already garnered support from The XX, Tinie Tempah, and even Johnny Depp! Australia – Sydney On Acid EP

I’ve still never been to Sydney, or Australia for that matter, but when I do, I’m sure my experience could be summed up very well by this new EP from the mysterious new project, Australia, recently signed to Tiga‘s new sub-label, Twin Turbo. The Sydney On Acid EP features two collaborative tracks from two of our favorite Aussie artists, and I can’t tell you how excited we are to hear more from this new musical alliance. Watch out world, there is Techno coming from Australia, and it is better than you could ever imagine.

ZZT – Vulkan Alarm! (Proxy Remix)

The power duo known as ZZT picked up heaps of attention this year when Tiga and Zombie Nation unleashed the massive Zzafrika remix package, and now the guys are back with a new single, ‘Vulkan Alarm!,’ as they prepare to release their debut album, Partys Over World, this 7th of November on Turbo Recordings. As a thank you to their fans on Facebook, the guys are giving away Proxy‘s take on the original, which is naturally inundated with the Russian’s dark, crunchy sound that you’d expect from the Mako Records label boss. If you don’t already, go give ZZT a ‘Like’ on Facebook and check out Jan Driver‘s banging remix as well while you’re over there.

Introducing…Attaque

Attaque is a new name to the Techno scene, yet his repertoire of original productions sounds like he’s been around for years. The young producer hails from Colchester, but he has now moved his studio to Brighton where he’ll hopefully be banging out more Techno tracks like the one we’re giving you below. Gaining support from the likes of Erol, Tiga, Brodinski, and Fake Blood, this lad has a good chance of being a new ‘One to Watch’ for the rest of 2011. Grab his latest track, ‘False,’ released on London’s Bad Life label below, then head over to Soundcloud to check out some other great Techno from this promising up and comer.
