Nashville newcomers, Basecamp, burst onto the scene late this summer with the R&B infused single, “Emmanuel,” which saw widespread support from artists and press alike. Outlets across the board compared the profound, fervent vocals and glitchy, percussive production to that of SBTRKT and Sampha — rightly so as “Emmanuel,” and the other 3 tracks on the debut self-titled EP, scream out to be played live in every way.
As with any great release come great remix packages, and today, we’re happy to premiere our friend Them Jeans‘ deep, dancefloor-ready remix of the breakout single. He’s found a beautiful balance of utilizing the blissful vocals from the original while kicking up the tempo to a nice, grooving 124BPM. Give it a listen below.
One glance at the tracklist below and you’ll realize that this mixtape has a different kind of dirty dancing to offer up. It’s a mix full of seductive Summer sounds that will accompany you during those times when a bad decision is the right decision. It’s Summertime mystery + sunshine bliss…laid back, sexed up vibes wrapped up + ready to be the soundtrack to your sleazy Summer.

Yesterday, Them Jeans graciously gave away his remix for Prince Club’s “Fruit Boots” on SoundCloud. Them Jeans presents his take on the already dance-floor ready track which includes the same spliced vocals and piano on the original, but also more of a drop after the intro, some added textures, as well as a bouncier and full-bodied bassline. See which version you like better and check out PIE Artists to stay up to date with artists that you should know about if you don’t already.

Happy Friday! Today, Them Jeans and Gina Turner are both giving away their remixes of the latest release on Sweat It Out!, a groovy disco collaboration between Anna Lunoe and Wax Motif titled, Love Ting. Each put their own respective touch on the original, with Them Jeans showing a bit of disco love while Gina takes it in a tribal direction. Make sure to grab both renditions below, and head over to Them Jeans‘ and Gina‘s Facebooks to get more free tunes!
You know the drill Los Angeles, and this Friday is one for the books. Mad Decent and Dubsided. Switch and Diplo. MAJOR. LAZER. Accompanying them on the main stage tonight will be Dim Mak’s tower of power Them Jeans, a 3 person midi controlled live set by GDD fav’s PeaceTreaty, along with ///myself and resident hero Mr. White, with an opening set by Dj N.
3:15 – 5///BONES
Pre-Sale tix are SOLD OUT, but you can still come early and pay at the door, the first 100 people will get in for $20, and I think its $25 going up to $35 after that. EARLY ARRIVAL is HELL OF SUGGESTED.
MAJOR TUNES: To celebrate the festivities tonight, grab this new remix the lazer duo has released as part of the remix packet v. 1 from Cajmere’s classic “Percolator”. Also, a crazy ass remix of Mowgli’s “Nu Skool” by the PeaceTreaty boys.
Also, in the GDD House Party™ (aka Jerry Louis room) of the Avalon, come check out some great local talent from our friends and familia. The Jerry Louis room is located in the room to the right of the main stage, in front of the smoking patio.
I know you guys have all been waiting for this one. The Jamaican zombie killer personified by dance music giants Diplo & Switch will be zapping all y’all with some dancehall/electro lazerbeams this Friday at the Avalon in Hollywood, and I can safely say this will be even crazier than the Wolfgang Gartner night we had a couple weeks back. Supporting Major Lazer will be some of LA’s finest including Peace Treaty, Them Jeans, Mr. White, and ///BONES.
Due to the extremely high demand for this show, unfortunately there will be no discount lists this week. You may purchase presale tickets HERE or wait in line Friday night for general admission tickets.
This is not a show to miss, so don’t sleep on getting tickets because this WILL SELL OUT.
I know it’s a little late notice, but it’s a big night at Cinespace tonight kiddos! As you can see above, Midnight Juggernauts will be performing live off of their new album, The Crystal Axis, which was released on Siberia Records in June. Main stage will also play host to another live performance from Las Vegas electro trio, Afghan Raiders, who will also be making an appearance at HARD Summer in August. I don’t know about you all, but I love to see live shows as often as possible, so I would definitely suggest making it out to catch both of these acts.
On top of the live sets in the main room, an all star DJ lineup will also be in effect including Dances With White Girls, DCUP (one of the masterminds behind the epic summer hit ‘We No Speak Americano’), and your friendly resident DJs Them Jeans and Dan Oh.
Buy your $10 presale tickets here! I think they’re giving away a free vinyl signed by Aoki too.
