The stylish and multifaceted producer/DJ, TheFatRat, releases his first original of the year via Spinnin’ Records. With this incendiary new track, “Splinter,” TheFatRat takes on a much heavier sound with monstrous dubstep weaving in and out of beautifully orchestrated strings. “Splinter” is certainly not for the faint of heart, so proceed with caution, you have been warned! Check out the new tune after the jump and be on the lookout for TheFatRat with some more original secret weapons in his arsenal this year.

That’s what we’re here for, ladies and gents. Toks and myself coming through your speakers with some sexy jams to get you in the mood for some crisper air, cooler winds, and leaves with pretty colors or something like that (I don’t know what autumn is like, we fucking live in LA). This Week in the Mix
We have finally reached the most sought-after day of the week, and what better than receiving a handful of great new mixes fit for the soundtrack of your weekend. October mixes are plentiful as Mighty Mouse, TheFatRat, Aeroplane, and Drop Out Orchestra all deliver their own unique brand of dance music. Also, Crookers address their breakup with an appropriate “Don’t be sad” mix.

With every passing day, it seems as though electronic dance music moves further into other genres and media outlets such as movie soundtracks and commercials. When my buddy informed me last week that TheFatRat produced a Lupe Fiasco track, I immediately had to find it and hear what it was all about. After listening, it was clear that our favorite disco-electro producer is at the forefront of the dance music/hip-hop fusion with this tasteful dubstep track that maintains a perfect balance of commercial appeal and gritty-ness of the underground. Enjoy the unfinished version of “American Terrorist Pt. 2″ after the jump. √+

It had been a while since we last heard from TheFatRat, but it is with good reason. He’s been busy in the studio cranking out some more of his signature disco-electro, and we can hear the results with his recent releases that include huge remixes for Static Revenger and Chris Brown. TheFatRat has been proving his staying power in dance music with his consistency, quality control, as well as his original style. He also just announced on his Facebook that he did a remix of The Knocks’ “The Feeling” that will hopefully be coming out sooner than later. His two other remixes after the jump will tide you over until then…

Have you missed our favorite disco electro-house producing rodent, TheFatRat? I know I have. He’s been keeping himself busy with some gigs around the U.S. as well as making new tracks. Lucky for us, he’s giving us a taste of what’s next with this preview of a new official remix he did for Static Revenger. This two minute clip that showcases the signature FatRat flavor will leave you anxious for more, but have no fear, the full track wil be released on July 27th. Mark your calendars and check out the preview after the jump.

Next Wednesday, June 27th, is set to be an excellent night of music and dancing with OVERWERK and TheFatRat at one of Hollywood’s historic venues, The Roxy. As two of the very best up and comers in electro-house, there won’t be many more chances to witness their madness in such an intimate setting. OVERWERK has been known to absolutely crush his sets, and from TheFatRat‘s worldwide debut at our VS party, we know that he’ll have a tasteful selection of tracks, along with his own signature disco electro productions. This is certainly one you don’t want to miss, so purchase your tickets here and have a listen to their latest tracks after the jump.

After several months, a handful of well-crafted remixes/originals, a GDD Spotlight feature, and his worldwide debut at our VS party, TheFatRat is now thoroughly infiltrating the US and the rest of the world. Now that his recognition is growing by the day, I felt it was necessary to venture back to where it all started with one of his first tracks, “Do Be Do Be Do.” He’s been bringing his top quality disco-electro since day one. Enjoy the throwback that started it all and a new DJ tool version to add variety in your sets. If you’re in Colorado, check him out tomorrow night at The Skinny Dip.
