Our friends at The Well & Rhonda have teamed up for the latest edition of the Sounds From The Well mix series, with Rhonda co-founder and resident DJ, GODDOLLARS, selecting 73 minutes of grooves titled, Aiming For The Hips, Shooting From The Heart. The curation finds itself on multiple sides of the dancefloor, with bits of House, Disco, Deep, and Soul weaved nicely throughout.
Have a listen/download below, and if you’re in LA tonight, make sure to check out John Talabot, Shit Robot, GODDOLLARS, and more at Rhonda’s very special Valentine’s Day event.
Turbo Recordings artists, Clouds, have teamed up with our friends at The Well here in Los Angeles for a forward-thinking soundtrack to accompany the boutique store’s new Empyrean Layer campaign. Dark, futuristic, and cutting edge, Clouds’ track selection in this unique mix follows suit to the collection of pieces from visionary brands like UNIF, Skingraft, D by D, and more. Well, this is neat. Tonight our friends at SF’s Gauntlet Gallery and The Well are presenting an unbelievable curation of art inspired by the robots known as Daft Punk. Based on the initial exhibit in San Francisco last month, we hear we’re in for an amazing experience in an homage to two of dance music’s timeless artists. GDD™ DJs aRod and Burn Unit will be providing the sounds for the evening, and I’m sure there will be some kind of booze flowin’ from 7:30PM to midnight. Hope to see you there for this unique event.
To celebrate the last VS of the year (and the end of the world as we know it?), we’re teaming up with our friends at The Well to bring you a SECRET GUEST (Boys Noize Records) all the way from France. Supporting the night will be a special b2b set from our own Troy Kurtz & Bones, along with a birthday performance from Ben Oprstu and sets from SF’s Realboy and Option4. Can you say, techno?

Dim Mak‘s NY transplant Dan Oh has taken up a new alias Brass Fergie – cultivating a wide spectrum of bass-driven sound that saw massive exposure opening the Dim Mak stage @ this year’s Electric Zoo Music Festival. He has teamed up with our mutual friends at THE WELL to bring you a showcase of his new found appeal, featuring an awesome blend of basslines through House, UK Funky, NU-K Garage and Ghetto-tech. Definitely a great mix for to get you through the day, kick off the night, or just wind everything down.

Our friends at The Well just got a special delivery this morning — a brand new mix from the eclectic, unbelievably versatile DJ MORSECODE. Nathaniel Morse is a born n’ bred San Franciscan, but as with many artists and DJs in this scene he heard the call and moved to Los Angeles back in 2007. After linking up with DJ AM (RIP) and Deckstar, Morse found himself playing everywhere in this city — from the swanky spots of Hollywood to the deep, dirty cuts of Downtown. This hour+ long mix features some deep rollers perfectly suited for any party thrown by our great pals at The Well. Download it below. √+ Continue Reading
Hometown héros & feel good kings, Cosmic Kids, have released a new mix tape perfect for sunnydaze. It reminds me of sun-drenched rides up PCH with the top down. Expect low BPM, smooth & sweet jams, that will take you to your special place. Daniel of CK told me earlier today the idea behind the mix was to make something for the drive down to Coachella, and we must oblige.

Tamie Adaya and her latest venture, Crown Jewels, are throwing a cozy (read: crazy) little warehouse party at The Well tonight and tomorrow morning. You may recall this venue if you attended the HARD afterparty on Halloween that Boys Noize ended up taking the reigns of. Doorly, Toddla T, Them Jeans + Dan O of Dim Mak, Dillon Francis and Nadastrom’s Dave Nada tag teaming a moombahton set and our very own Matt Black closing things out. Can’t mention the special guest (hint: UK MC, he’s a big deal) but I’m sure you’ll be able to figure more out after poking around the facebook page. Be sure to RSVP.
All my best,
