Our man Figgy puts the booty in bootleg on his remix of “Often” by The Weeknd. It’s not often that an artist can take a track by The Weeknd & sex it up more than it already is. But Figgy is more than up for the challenge & handles his business with flair by layering the Radiohead classic “Everything In Its Right Place” over the sleazy R&B sounds of The Weeknd. The result is a charged up, double dose of raw energy that will surely have the dance floor dripping in sex.
Stock up on firewood & spike the eggnog…it’s time for Gotta Dance Dirty’s 4th annual HOLIDAZE MIX. One hour of fireplace jams & holiday funk courtesy of aRod + BONES.

Snakehips have been a hot topic of conversation online for some time now. For two London producers who choose to keep their formal identities anonymous, they certainly have a funkified, in your face style. Unless you’ve been wearing earmuffs for the past two years, you’ve probably heard their original track “On & On” or it’s reworking by Kaytranada. In addition, their remixes for The Weekndand Banksare both dancing around the 5 million stream mark on Soundcloud. Needless to say, their style is completely their own, incorporating elements of hip-hop, soul, and R&B with a new-aged dance twist.
Their latest releases, remixes of Raury,Lion Babe, and a monstrous original “Days With You,” have further cemented their reputation as some of the top purveyors of this soul-centric vibe. You’re not going to want to miss their set at SNOWGLOBE, as it’s sure to incite dance riots hot enough to melt the Tahoe snowfall.
After the success of their track, ‘That’s Right‘, which came out earlier this year on Mad Decent, Wuki and Jesse Slayter have teamed up once again to energize The Weeknd’s lullaby, Often. And in an exciting turn of events, it appears that Bmore is making a solid push to come back into the lime-light. It warms my nostalgic heart to hear the sounds of yesteryear seamlessly merging with the production prowess of the the present, and I tip my hat to these guys who are pushing the boundaries of dance music. Also, major kudos to Wuki, whose banner year hasn’t stopped as Jack U just included 3 of his tracks in their Diplo & Friends mix that dropped earlier this week. Expect to hear a lot more from these guys in 2015.
Over the last few years, The Weeknd has captivated that hearts of millions of teenage girls and music snobs alike with his crooning voice and bedroom rhymes. Upcoming producer Ape Drums takes this track out of the bedroom and straight into the club with some tasty 808s and extremely catchy vocal chops before launching into the stratosphere with screaming leads and a cheeky rave siren. After pumping out 3 full, free albums in less than a year, emotional R&B artist Abel Tesfaye AKA The Weeknd has finally signed to a major for his 4th full length, Kiss Land, which successfully carries on right where Trilogy left off. Tesfaye’s vocals evoke a sense of loss and love simultaneously, creating an image of a somewhat tortured soul finding his way through a dozen fervent songs. Calling upon banner names like Drake and Pharrell to lend their talents, we’re pretty sure Kiss Land will make its way to mainstream radio in no time. Listen to the whole record below. √+

Perhaps for the better, LA has temporarily lost one of its top producers to the UK. Yung Taylor Freels, who goes by the name Urulu, has quickly established himself atop the ranks of sophisticated house listeners with a grip of chart-topping tracks on Exlpoited, petFood, and most recently Needwant. He’s reworked The Weeknd’s ‘Twenty Eight‘ into a balearic symphony of warm pads and soft vocal croons. If you find yourself sailing around with a bevy of babes, you’d most definitely want to impress with this tune, however, it still pairs very well with your morning coffee.
