Wassup dirty dancers?! After a stonking weekend here’s a healthy dose of dubstep and IDM to aid you with your recovery…

19 year old experimental producer Shlohmo has interested me a lot lately. Part of the WeDidIt collective up in San Francisco, he’s been heavily supported by Flying Lotus and Gaslamp Killer‘s Brainfeeder label and recently featured in Crookers guest mix for Annie Nightingale on BBC Radio 1. Watch this space, the future holds big things for this guy.
+ If somehow you still haven’t had your Crookers fill from Bones’ Tons of Friends preview last week, here’s their guest mix for Annie Nightingale:
glitchy goodness. Here’s the tracklisting…

1. Dem Hunger – Peugeot Pregnancy
2. Shlohmo – Antigravity (Low Limit Remix)
3. Floating Points – Truly
4. Crookers feat. Miike Snow – Remedy (Accapella)
5. Crookers feat. Miike Snow – Remedy
6. Four Tet – Sing
7. Die Voegel – Blaue Moschee
8. Shlomi Aber – Sketches (Be As One)
9. Novalima – Machete
10. Basic Soul Unit – Dank
11. Machine Drum – Carry The Weight (Demo)
12. Crookers feat. Roisin Murphy – Royal T (Accapella)

From Melborne Australia, The Temper Trap are a breakthrough indie act that should be on everyone’s radars for they’ve recently scored remixes from Adam Freeland, Axwell & Dirty South. They’re playing Music Box at the Fonda in LA this Wednesday, and again at Coachella in April. Here’s the latest single ‘Fader’ remixed by Jakwob:

If that’s a little too soft for you, here are a couple of heavy hitters you may have missed first time around:
raw dubstep and a filthy drop
Banging electro wobble. Made to play loud

More grimey dubstep from one of my favorite Trouble & Bass artists – Philadelphia-based Starkey is killing it on the production front. Currently touring in Europe, fingers crossed for another North America tour because this guy’s sets are wild.

dirty basslines interspersed with chilled orchestral licks. win
I couldn’t run a post about Starkey without posting the title track off his Stars EP that dropped today. Mellow out to this one:
This is a post-night out track. Kick back to it and get led astray by Anneka’s vocals

It’s no secret that the body rattling genre of dubstep has re-emerged into the ears of dirty dancers worldwide (I say re-emerged because ‘dub/breakbeat’ has been around longer than you). So, when I bring up the name Doorly, you should get a little tingly in your stomach, as his remixes of Calvin Harris & The Temper Trap are top-shelf spiritual endeavors. He delivers two remixes by Riton & Primary 1‘s ‘Who’s There’, because he loved the song so much, just one rendition wasn’t going to cut it. And if you’re still not satisfied, he recorded a ferocious 5-minute minimix for Miss Annie Mac over at BBC1. OK, so there’s one downfall. The tracks are 128kbps, so instead of buying another PBR for your best breaux tonight, purchase the songs over at beatport/itoonz if you’re so inclined.

Do you know who Hervé is? Besides being well known for producing some of the wobbliest and hardest tracks on the sphere, and performing at festivals and shows all around the globe…No, he also records as The Count, Voodoo Chilli, Action Man, Dead Soul Brothers, Speaker Junk and Young Lovers, and has a collab project called Machines Don’t Care. Must be a confusing life for the man we call Herve. His dub remix of “The Science of Fear” might be my favorite song right now.
