Chicago native, Rogue Vogue, has always impressed me with his bright, Nu Disco originals. From ‘Sunshine’n’ and ‘Breezy’ from almost exactly a year ago, to his latest original, ‘When I Looked At You,’ which was just featured on the 24th edition of The Magician’s Magic Tape series, Rogue Vogue knows how to lay down an excellent vocal, tropical jam. This one gets a big ol’ √+ from me. Definitely stream below. Continue Reading
The Magician is back in business with the Magic Tape series, but it is unfortunate that this twenty-fourth edition will be his last till September. Despite the bad news, the mix is of course filled to the brim with smooth summery deep disco jams that are to be enjoyed on the beach, by the pool, in your kitchen while you’re making breakfast, or wherever your heart desires. At this point, the magic tapes need no introduction, so hurry up, grab a drink, and get groovin’ on this Tuesday night with the stream/download after the jump.
Ever since The Magician‘s fabled set at HARD Summer I had been scrounging the internet looking for the track he opened with. With no luck and a full years passing, I finally had the chance to ask him in person. His answer was better than i could have imagined, “Tomorrow.” This is the newest jam from Yuksek and Steven’s project, Peter & the Magician, entitled: “Memory.” Its out on Kitsune July 9th and packed with remixes by Pointdexter, NSFW, and Le Crayon. Enjoi.
For the 75th installment of The Dirt, K.M.O.C. and Korbz teamed up to create a playlist worthy of only the most loyal GDD fans. This installment of The Dirt is perfect for anywhere a summer day might take you. Whether that is long naps on the beach, or late nights grooving in the club, The Dirt #75 is an ideal companion for your summer plans.
It only seemed right for the first RAC original to get the remix treatment by The Magician. It’s a bubbling, infectious tune highlighting the sunnier side here in Hollywood. You can download it for free over at Green Label Sound.
If you haven’t realized that The Magician‘s Magic Tapes are the best places to find the most buzzing up and coming Indie Dance and Nu Disco by now, then let this twenty-third edition of the ongoing series be the launchpad for your newly found love. As always, hop on the Soundcloud thread to try and put together the tracklist!

The crusader of cool, Mr. Chris Malinchak just polished off the finishing touches on his 3rd studio EP from the awesome French label, French Express. The label happens to be home to feel-good kings and GDD™ favorites: Jonas Rathsman, Perseus, & Moonboots to name a few. Chris’ new album features 5 tracks bringing back the funk while offering just the right amount of diversity. The title track “There I Was (Again)” is absolutely amazing, but I have to say my loyalty lies with “Fuego”, the track that was featured on The Magician‘s previous Magic Tape. Check out streaming of the entire EP after the jump!
The 22nd installment of magical italo disco and beyond. Same illusionist. New tricks.
Chicago is the home of House music, and the mysterious producer from the Windy City known as Rogue Vogue knows his roots. I first heard of RV last June when he sent out his two summertime House anthems, ‘Breezy’ and ‘Sunshine’n,’ and since then I’d been curious as to what he’s been up to. As it turns out, he’s still making great House jams, like his latest remix of Australian Synthpoppers, Radio Ink, which was recently featured on the latest ‘Magic Tape Twenty-One‘ put together by none other than The Magician. Give it a listen below. √+ Continue Reading
