If you don’t know about the co-founder of Moving Castle and 1/2 of Hotel Garuda, Manila Killa, then you’ve come to the right place. The DC based producer consistently displays a cutting edge understanding of the indie dance world and his remix of The M Machine’s “Don’t Speak” continues this trend. Manila Killa displays his eclectic taste in music and diverse production skills successfully breathing a new life to the original mix. Expect the full package to come out on April 23rd on OWSLA, and make sure catch both artists on tour!

Electric Zoo is only days away and we are bringing you a 3 part series to highlight our top picks for your best festival experience! With amazing artists from Skream, Claude VonStroke, Dog Blood, Four Tet, Brodinski and so many more..check out our top picks for Friday below!
We have a very special edition of The Dirt this week, featuring myself, Burn Unit, and our insanely talented friends better known as The M Machine. Now these guys aren’t your average bedroom producers… they’re real artists, with vision, dedication, and a unique set of skills that allowed them to completely build and program their own massive light set-up in the shape of a M, and not with the help of major label money or touring revenue. Nope, these boys did it all themselves, with their own six hands.
They’ve sent over 5 songs by 5 artists that “inspire” them. High praise from some pretty talented individuals. As always, preview the tunes and grab a .zip of the available downloadable tracks after the jump!
Last summer the trifecta of Porter Robinson, The M Machine, and Mat Zo set out on a 2 month bud tour across North America, unleashing not only a wave of incredible music but also reflecting the energy fused from the 3 acts in unison. This 23 minute mini-doc depicts a great tale of life on the road, how everything comes together and how everything came to be.
ALSO – Big shout outs on this to our dear homies The M Machine on this tour who not only are still doing what we know them best for (5:36 – pedestrians hunting out good coffee) but also show everyone that they are their own roadies in every sense of the duty. PLUS – rockin the GDD shirt @ 9:16! When it all comes together, it made for a memorable summer tour that was like no other for these young and talented individuals.
Our friends, The M Machine, recently released Part II of their epic debut album, Metropolis, a week ago today on OWSLA, and this afternoon, they’ve unveiled the brilliantly animated music video for “Tiny Anthem” — the downtempo, vocal-driven, and ruminative third track on Metropolis Part II. It’s difficult to build a concept around releases in dance music in this age, and we applaud The M Machine and those involved for truly creating art across multiple mediums with this release. Pick it up on Beatport.
Our SF friends known as The M Machine have always had a knack for taking Pop songs and rendering them into their own vision. From their vicious remix of Lil Jon’s “I Do” as Pance Party to this most recent remix of Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven,” the trio find a way to maintain the catchy sensibilities of the originals while providing a dollop of their style of Dance music on top. The guys take a glitchy, DnB direction with this remix released today on Atlantic Records, and I’m into it.

As some of you may or may not know, we’ve started up a new project here at GDD™, bringing in a video element to the brand called GDD.tv. Our team (big shout out to Alex, Laura D + KMOC) was hard at work out in Las Vegas a couple weeks ago; locking down interviews with some of the scene’s best musicians that were out in the desert for the biggest dance music festival in North America. Our brilliant videographer, Alexander Jacob, has put together a teaser video of some of the artists that we had the pleasure of chatting with, so have a quick watch and keep an eye out for the full interviews to surface in the near future!
Our pal Porter Robinson will be embarking on a massive 31-date tour next week in promotion of his new single, ‘Language,’ including a kick-off date at Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas next Sunday the 10th. Supporting him throughout June and July will be Mat Zo and The M Machine, providing for a concrete trio of talent for this extended summer tour. Check for the tour date closest you in the flyer above and find more information about the Language Tour over at Porter’s official website.
