Looking for a bit harder indie-electro version of The Knock’s catchy anthem ‘Comfortable’? Well, look no further. Ben Negative has put his personal spin on the track, receiving heavy support from The Knocks boys themselves. Listen to this one with headphones; your puny labtop won’t do the roaring, rolling bass any justice.

This Monday, Finnish feel-good tunesmith, Lenno, will be releasing a remix EP for Never Stop — the 4-track EP that came out in early November on NYC-based imprint, Heavy Roc Music, run by The Knocks‘ B-Roc. On board for the remix release is the young gun and GDD™ homie, Durante, who has completely flipped the title track from Lenno, adding in thick, snarling Electro synth stabs to complement Lenno’s vibey Nu Disco style for a rework that highlights the inherent abilities of Durante while not fully giving up the mojo of Lenno’s original mix. Listen first below and look out Monday for the full release.
New York’s burgeoning producer/DJ duo, Solidisco, brings a modern edge to the classic house sound, riding on the fringes of Studio 54 sensibilities. They consistently bring the funk and keep it groovy – as proven by their latest jam, “Top of the World” featuring Skyy. For this week’s GDD™ Guest Mix, Solidisco offers up a tasteful concoction of only their own originals, bootlegs, remixes, and unreleased tracks. Download/listen below and mark your calendars for Solidisco‘s remix of Mystery Skulls’ “Ghost,” featured alongside Fred Falke, Claude VonStroke, and Viceroy for a massive remix package out on February 18th.
Gotta absolutely love it when our buddies, The knocks, fresh and hot out of Brooklyn drop a brand spankin’ new original. This track is amazing. It’s quite funky, dancy, and reminiscent of old school Prince. Thats definitely a recipe for a tasty jam. The EP and Single will be available Feb. 18th on Neon Gold Records, so make sure you don’t miss it! In the meantime grab the limited edition 12” vinyl available for presale now HERE

Nashville Indie Dance duo, Cherub, will be releasing a 4-track collection titled Antipasto next Tuesday, December 10th, via Columbia Records, with 3 originals including the guys’ huge viral hit, “Doses & Mimosas,” which has recently been remixed by GDD™ favs, The Knocks. Undoubtedly already a party anthem, “Doses & Mimosas” gets a nice Indie Electro re-vibe from the NYC duo — a perfect addition to the trio of Cherub originals on the release. “Doses & mimosas, champagne & cocaine help get me through…” Enjoy the premiere below.

Derby Days has been known for nearly a decade as a festive day of unique, top-notch performances, which then donates all proceeds to the fantastic organization that is the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. This year, Christian Karlsson of Miike Snow is playing, along with a live set by The Knocks, and USC’s own Dr. Fresch. I’m of course skeptical of any DJ set, particularly when performed by an artist known for a band and not a DJ act, but a Miike Snow DJ set is a clear exception. I highly recommend catching this elusive performance whenever possible. And, to make your life a little easier, we’ve got 4 pairs of tickets to give away. Enter here:
