With every passing day, it seems as though electronic dance music moves further into other genres and media outlets such as movie soundtracks and commercials. When my buddy informed me last week that TheFatRat produced a Lupe Fiasco track, I immediately had to find it and hear what it was all about. After listening, it was clear that our favorite disco-electro producer is at the forefront of the dance music/hip-hop fusion with this tasteful dubstep track that maintains a perfect balance of commercial appeal and gritty-ness of the underground. Just as I was saying how The Knocks were stepping up their game, they come through with an even bigger track that takes me back to the feelings that came about with “Brightside.” From start to finish, you’re going to be bouncing around the room, and probably singing along with a few catchy hooks along the way.
