The hip hop world has been bridged again by the killer production of LA’s own Pipes. Reaching north into bay area territory, The duo has taken the original vocal of Sage The Gemini’s “Gas Pedal” and created a bass driven techno track that even breaks into hard-style tempos. Fans of Boys Noize and Bromance Records will be all over this one, tis’ a big warehouse pumper for sure.
After transplanting to LA from Australia, the man with long black hair and a penchant for dark techno has been a slave to the studio. Craig’s newest EP dropped this week on fellow Australian label Motorik, and he dialed in two heaters with the underground queen Louisahhh!!! Her vocals pair dangerously well with Craig’s raw power, and with support from the likes of Brodinski and Riva Starr, this release should see him boost up the ranks of upcoming techno producers. You can catch Craig at Dim Mak Studios on September 17th where he’ll be doing a back to back set with label mate Jensen Interceptor.

As we near the end of July, Jonah and I have successfully celebrated both our respective birthdays this month while narrowly avoiding any serious bodily damage to ourselves or our friends (rejoice!) so we gratuitously reward you with 10 high quality MP3’s to download and carry into the weekend and the remainder of your summer.
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs released his first mix CD last week as the Get Lost VI compilation for Crosstown Rebels, featuring 2CDs, 32 tracks, and over 140 minutes of music. Debuting on this compilation is the new collaboration between Orlando (TEED) and Eats Everything titled “Lion, The Lion.” The new single, available only on Get Lost VI as of now, reaches into the Techno/Tech House world and is not immediately recognizable as something you’d usually hear from either of these UK producers. It’s gritty, spacey, and experimental; definitely an awesome synergy occurring here…
Tis the season to get sprung, and I present you an hour’s worth of tunes to usher in this lascivious vibe. My selections hop across genres and delve deep into my musical collection, ranging from Skream to !!! to Classixx.
Best wishes & happy hunting.
With my nice leather jacket fresh of the closet for the season, as well as more beanies than I can unapologetically admit to owning and wearing, it’s official: it’s getting cold. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of fall & the things that come with it: rosy cheeks, cozy fireplaces, pumpkin or apple EVERYTHING, and so on, but there’s something I’ll always miss about the kiss of summer that kind of comes with being a california girl (damn you, Katy Perry..)
As the winter chill nips at our heels, it’s nice to reminisce about the warm days of summer, where being out in the sun inevitably leads to a happier disposition, more dance parties, and from a chemical perspective, an increase in your body’s production of eumelanin. Pretty much the stuff that your skin creates to protect your cells from getting their DNA damaged by the sunlight, since it’s pigmented a higher level of melanin would mean a darkened skin color. Viola, a tan!
Below are what I can laughably call my very own musical tanning-bed, your own little reminder of summer. Put on your favorite pool party ensemble, bust out the Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville Margarita Maker, and shake your booty to these sun-lovin, summer-drippin tunes.
Our very own Troy Kurtz brings you a truly unique mix of solid house grooves in his signature sexy suave, to commemorate his momentous relocation from Miami to LA. May this be a sign of more great things to come. Welcome to your new home, bud.
More from MadTech here to set your weekend off on a hot one. They’re consistently grabbing new talent in the universe of UK Bass, Funky and the experimental. This one is Ill Blu, a production duo of Def1 and Jreel. Rumbling bass, sliced up by synth strikes and an ever-present, pounding 4/4 beat. Have a listen, and grab the free download at the bottom.
