Italy’s DJ/production duo, NiCe7, has built a strong reputation for their groove-driven brand of techy, dark, and deep house music. After releasing their outstanding single, “Bassline Soldiers,” on Noir Music and its subsequent remixes on DFTD, they will be repeating the success by rereleasing their hit, “Time To Get Physical,” along with remixes by Sonny Fodera, Argy and Bontan, on March 31st. As we wait for this next release, NiCe7 has given us a proper guest mix to enjoy in the meantime. With tracks from the likes of Subb-an, Phil Weeks, HNNY, and more, the mix is a perfect send off into the weekend as it keeps an addictive underground vibe throughout its 1-hour duration.

After listening to Tiga‘s firing remix of the new FOOTPRINTZ single this morning, I did a bit of digging to see what the man from Montreal has been up to recently. Very pleasantly surprised, I learned that Tiga was coming out of a multi-year original solo production hiatus to make the 100th release for Damian LazarusCrosstown Rebels imprint. The EP is titled The Picture and will be released August 27th, with two originals as well as a remix from Crosstown’s Subb-An. The entire EP evokes a dark characteristic that agrees with the underground label’s reputation and matches it with Tech/Pop sensibilities from Tiga. With nearly 10 years under its belt, we congratulate Damian Lazarus and Crosstown Rebels on their 100th release, and commend Tiga on his much appreciated return to his solo project. √++ Continue Reading

D. Ramirez has always been a favorite producer of mine. His style can be characterized by clean-lined production with an edgy take on House and Tech House, exemplified here in his newest EP released on Toolroom this week, Get Down. The two-track release features the title track, ‘Get Down,’ which leans to the dark-yet-bouncy Tech House taste of D. Ramirez, as well as ‘Won’t Give Up,’ which reaches into the realm of vocal, Big Room Tech. Both of these impressive tracks are featured in the new Deep Dark Vocal Tech Mix from D. Ramirez along with a slew of great Tech jams from Maceo Plex, Subb-An, Jamie Jones, and more. Preview the EP and download the mix below. Continue Reading
