Fuck Jake Gyllenhaal! We here at GDD™ know who the real Prince of Persia is. Fellow UCSB Gaucho For Life and Dubsided Records‘ very own Sticky K is set to drop his long-awaited single ‘Prince of Persia’ this March 15th on iTunes, and one week later, March 22nd, on Beatport via Dubsided. Sticky K’s received support from the likes of Don Rimini and Drop The Lime, and I’m sure this release will only make him more fans amongst the big boy DJs of the world.

Sticky K – Prince of Persia (Preview) by Sticky K

Check out Rod delight the hardcore party starters at last year’s 2010 HARD Summer Festival here in LA who braved the heat early in the day. You can catch him dropping ‘Prince of Persia’ at 2:55!

The first Dubsided digital release of the decade is Sticky K’s California EP, the followup to his debut Bandari Funk. Since then, Sticky K has been making some huge strides, earning support from the likes of Crookers, Don Rimini, and Drop the Lime. “The Reason I Love Life” and “Cyrus the Great” will be sure to please those of you in search of jump-up-and-down post-bangers, but don’t sleep on the Middle Eastern-flavored “California” and breaks groover “Sans Soleil” either. Get your feet wet with this sampler, then take the plunge at Beatport.

Crookers – Royal T (Sticky K Remix)

This Saturday, a coalition of San Francisco’s roving DJ crews are uniting under one roof to raise money for the Red Cross for Earthquake Victims in Haiti. Folks, if you’re over 21 and over your texting limit for the month, come on out and get down for a great cause. Last night, President Obammy said the worst of the economic storm is over, so the suggested donation of $10-$15 isn’t going to put you back on food stamps. First 100 donors get a free Guinness. Check out these jams from two of San Francisco’s finest deejaying this event.

Trouble and Bass songstress Jinder will be making her San Francisco debut tomorrow night at Triple Crown alongside Mike 2600 and Sticky K. Admission is only $5 before midnight and $10 afterward. Expect some serious low end from her supporting acts.

Jinder – Youth Blood (12th Planet and Flinch Remix)

Dubsided’s Sticky K does it again! His new remix of “Put Your Hands on Me” has only been available as a stream on his MySpace and the Crookers blog (say what!), but he’s hooked us up with the mp3! This one is a bit different than his remix of “Para de Gracinha”, but if you take your bass on the mnml side, you’re going to dig this one.

If you came here in search of “sticky laser synths”, this remix serves them with a side of 808s!

With the year more than halfway over, it’s safe to say that 2009 has been dominated by the Dutch. Every blogger was posting about Don Diablo, Laidback Luke collaborated with Diplo for one of the hottest singles of year, and what nightclub deejay wasn’t murdering dancefloors with Chuckie’s “Let the Bass Kick”? If you’re still not convinced, then perhaps the presence of Atlanta’s Johnathan Mortimer Smith (thanks Wikipedia) on this Chuckie collaborative remix can back up this claim.
¡BONUS STAGE!
It’s about time this classic saw an updated remix, who better than GDD™ favorite Sticky K?

Since we last featured Sticky K, he has found residency at San Francisco’s Goldsweat party, recorded a guest mix for Kissy Sell Out’s show on BBC Radio 1, and cranked out two of his stickiest remixes that you won’t hear anywhere else (yet). The sky is the limit for this up-and-coming producer, who is currently working on his second EP to be released on Dubsided. If you’re in the City, catch his opening set for Jack Beats on August 7th at the Paradise Lounge.

B. Rich – Make Me Dance (Sticky K Remix)
The anthemic dubstep(?) breakdown should give you enough time to fasten your belongings before this roller coaster ride plunges into an absolute stormer.

The Score – Girls Gone Wild (Sticky K Remix)
Sticky K warms up during halftime before dropping a relentless barrage of wobbly laser synths.
