It’s been a long time coming for Gotta Dance Dirty’s own Shae B, the featured vocalist behind Free Slice‘s recent rendition of Drake’s smash hit, “One Dance.” The trio crafts a unique twist to the current Billboard Hot 100 #1 with a little bit of Southern California funk and just the right amount of deep dance drive. Ripe for spicy Summer nights and cool enough for the day time heat, it’s hard to imagine a time you wouldn’t want these vibes around. So cop the free download and spread the love around!
Shae B had a tear of a summer dancin’ her way across pool parties from Hollywood to Palm Springs. Known for her fanciful beats and brilliant aura behind the decks, it’s a pleasure to premiere her latest mixtape “Stripped Down Pt. 3.” It features underground sounds and the tunes she loves to get down to packaged up nicely in a 50 minute mixtape that’s sure to funk your week up. It’s toe tappin’ and head bobbin’ at it’s finest with tunes by GDD™ Favorites The Bixel Boys, Doorly, Motez, and more in this lovely ray of sunshine of a mixtape. So go ahead and get down with your bad self and don’t forget to cop that free download, oh, and tell someone you love them today!
This Saturday, we will be heading up to the bay for a special GDD™ Takeover at Harlot San Francisco! The night is set to feature a House music legend from Chicago (Cajual/Relief Records) as the SECRET guest, as well as our own BONES, aRod, Shae B, and the world debut of The Interns (myself – Tōks – & Colby J.). Additionally, we’ll be celebrating the birthdays of two of San Francisco’s best event photographers, Holy Mountain and Lance Jeffrey Skundrich, so you can expect a night of revelry with a proper vibe. If you’re looking to get down to some great music this Saturday, join us at Harlot and be a part of our family affair.
GDD™ homie shae b. is back in action with a follow up to her first installment of her ‘stripped down‘ mixtape series, once again taking some of the best of the deep and arranging it very well. ‘stripped down pt. II’ features a sultry selection of Shae’s current musical interests including tunes from Danny Daze, Huxley, George Fitzgerald, and more. She’ll be coming along with us this month to play the GDD™ x Wide Awake Art Car at EDC Las Vegas, so if you’re out there, make sure to come by and check her out. Listen/download below and find the tracklist after the jump.
GDD™ and dubFrequency are teaming up once again for an escape to the desert this Friday through Sunday in Palm Springs. With Carmaggedon looming and hours of traffic on the closed 405 freeway inevitable, it was a no-brainer to repeat the amazing getaway we had at the end of July at The Saguaro Hotel. GDD™ DJs (Bones, aRod, Shae B, and Burn Unit), No Shirt | No Shoes DJs (Tropicool, Bixel Boys, SAH, and Junkyard), and our friends Kedd Cook and White on Rice will be putting down the best grooves by the pool all weekend long.
Less than 4 days until we make the trek out on the 10 Freeway toward the beautiful Saguaro Hotel in Palm Springs for our Weekender this Friday and Saturday. To get everyone in the poolside mood, we’ve teamed up with Tavik and the lovely Shae B to put together a mixtape depicting the vibe we’re planning on getting into this weekend. Mix and tracklist are after the jump, and for more information on the events this weekend click here. Continue Reading
This will be a very special week for our Thursday event in Santa Monica, as we’ll be celebrating two birthdays in one. I’m lucky to share the same birthday week as my pal Vivek Srinivasan, who heads up the DANCEiSM side of VERSUS, and we’re bringing in an AWESOME special guest for the occasion — a man who has never played VS before and one who we’ve wanted to grace the 1s and 2s at The Central for a long time. Supporting him will be a surfeit of talent including our buddy from Australia, Craig Willams, a back to back set from BONES and our Miami brother Troy Kurtz, and a closing world debut set from Shadynasty, the newly formed duo project of Shae B and Burn Unit. Needless to say it’s exactly how I want to celebrate my birthday.
Looking for a good pool party in Los Angeles this weekend? We’ve got you covered. Guess is presenting the sexy daytime event, High/Tide, this Sunday at the classy Drai’s in Hollywood, with poolside sets from Treasure Fingers, Chris Kennedy, Shae B, and Bixel Boys. The GDD™ fam will be coming out to drink some bloody Mary’s and get our bronze on, and we’d love you to come join us.
Michael Woods at the Avalon in Hollywood just makes too much sense. Match that with sets from Pierce Fulton and Andrew Bennett and an opening set from GDD™ homie, shae b, and you’ve got yourself one hell of a night at CONTROL. We’ll also have the GDD™ room pumping this week, so make sure to come on by the room just to the right of the main stage and have a drink with us!
Email names to RSVP@gottadancedirty.com to be added to our discount guestlist for the evening. All names must be submitted by 5:30PM on Friday.
I’ll answer your first question and yes, the girl in the image above is shae b. The sexy, sultry DJ has been picking up steam in Los Angeles over the past year — playing everywhere from the Avalon to Drai’s Hollywood to the Playboy Mansion — bringing her signature Deep Tech House sound to eager ears around the city. We expect 2012 to be a big year for shae b., and we’re happy to premiere her first LIVE mix on GDD™ today. Perfect for late nights, early mornings, and the afterparty, this mix features pure gold in music selection and mixing. √++
