Chris James, one half of Coat of Arms, released his On & On EP on Berlin’s OFF Recordings yesterday with 2 originals and 2 well-commissioned remixes from New York resident, MANIK, and the Deep House aficionado from Leeds with one of my favorite artist names, Hot Since 82. The 4-track EP is perfect for peaktime, and the production from Chris James couldn’t be better. On & On already has support from the hottest of the hot — including Seth Troxler, Maceo Plex, Homework, and more. √++ Continue Reading

3 weeks ago London based Boiler Room took their gear over to Amsterdam Dance Event for an afternoon broadcast from the Minus label. Sets on the day came from Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Seth Troxler, and Ambivalent, and it was probably the most impressive Boiler Room we’ve seen to date. Take a listen to this recording of Richie Hawtin doing what he does best:

Los Angeles, I can confidently say that this Saturday marks one of the best dance music events to ever happen in this city. Crosstown Rebels, the lauded label run by the mysteriously interesting Damian Lazarus, and Flaunt Magazine are bringing the infamous Get Lost party to the West Coast after multiple successful and wildly hedonistic events during WMC in Miami in years past. With some of the biggest names in the global underground scene, Get Lost LA should be a bequest of auditory knowledge to all electronic music enthusiasts in this city. Find all necessary info below and make sure to read after the jump to see what Los Angeles’ trio, Droog, have to say about Get Lost, the Culprit label, and how Jamie Jones and Lee Foss helped them be where they’re at now.

Earlier this year, I interviewed Miami DJ & producer Danny Daze about upcoming projects, ambitions, and warehouse raves in the late 90s. At the time, I had no idea that he was about to take the house world by storm with one of the most mystifying and anticipated records of the year. During WMC this March, Hot Creations front man Jamie Jones literally took Danny’s CD that had his unmastered track ‘Your Everything’ on it, and shortly after that the buzz around the tune hit fever-pitch with the likes of Seth Troxler rinsing the hell out of it at festivals all over the world. Now, Danny is signed to Hot Creations and the record is set to drop at the end of this month with a vinyl release (digital release a week later). Here’s a mix he made to celebrate the moment: clocking in at a little over an hour, Danny features a collection of deep house gems both new and old. Perfect time-waster for your early summer doldrums.
