Brooklyn Fire label boss and GDD™ fav, Tommie Sunshine, is releasing a new EP titled Growth tomorrow via Scion A/V, and we get a jump on premiering the collaboration with Dutch duo, The Partysquad, from the release a day early. “Alright” is a multi-faceted production to say the least. From its downtempo Reggae introduction, the track slowly builds into a bouncy Big Room slammer while still incorporating an irie vibe throughout. All in all, a fun track. Stream above and check out the entire EP tomorrow over at Scion A/V.
Watching Los Angeles-based producer, Daedelus, live is quite the experience. From his monome-shredding to his experimental music selection, Daedelus is truly unique when it comes to performance and production. This week, he’ll be putting out a new 5-track EP, Looking Ocean, via Scion A/V, and we’re happy to premiere the first track from the release titled “Endless Sea” — a twinkling, airy downtempo production right up your alley if you’re a fan of his more experimental side. Have a listen above and check Scion A/V for the entire EP this week.
Last month, LA-based Bass aficionado Flinch released his Underwater EP on Scion Audio/Visual which was comprised of 4 originals and a remix of the title track from Bare. Today, Scion A/V has released the artistic, crafty music video for Flinch’s “Underwater ft. Kylee Swenson” directed by Ethan Feldbau for Rank and File Media, and it’s a perfect fluid visual accompaniment to the raw, aggressive sound of the single. Watch the video above and download the entire EP for free over on the Scion website.
Zack Kemp AKA Trolley Snatcha has made quite a name for himself in the past few years; riding the UK Bass and Dubstep wave all the way over to the US. Today, he begins his North American Summer tour in Washington DC before cruising around the continent for club and festival dates including this Saturday at HARD here in Los Angeles. Coincidentally, he’s also putting out a 5-track EP via Scion A/V next week, featuring five new originals including this collaboration with the famous Grime collective, Foreign Beggars. Make sure to check out the entire EP on Scion A/V next Tuesday!
Swimming with Sharks is a bi-coastal pool party held twice a month at The Standard Hotels in Downtown Los Angeles and New York City. It’s put on by our good friend, Matt Goldman AKA MFG Productions, and this year we’ve actually been grateful to be on board with some of the Saturday soirees. As Scion A/V is a main sponsor of the sexy summer series, they’ve decided to release the second volume of the Swimming with Sharks Sharkwaves EP — depicting the true vibe of the rooftop party in a 5 track free release available for all on the Scion A/V website tomorrow the 19th. Today, we premiere one track from the EP, and it’s from one of our favorite LA Nu Disco phenoms, Goldroom. ‘Pacific’ is everything you’d want in an EP made for a rooftop pool — slow, groovy, and tropical. A big √+ to our mate Goldroom on this one.
Two of our talented friends that live Downtown on the East side of the 405 here in Los Angeles have used their newly found proximity to each other to spend some time making tunes — free tunes that is. Today, SMOG rep Flinch has released a 5-track EP with Scion A/V, and the third track of his release is a very well-done collaboration with AC Slater titled ‘Moonlight.’ Another fantastic track on the Underwater EP includes the eponymous single, which features a beautiful vocal contribution from Kylee Swenson and also gets a remix treatment from the beastly Bare. As always with the lovely people at Scion AV, they’re putting the whole thing out for free over on their website.
Motor City legend, Moodymann, teamed up with the great folks over at Scion A/V for the Picture This EP released today featuring 8 original productions, and as you would expect — it’s absolutely brilliant. Grab a babe/dude and get hot n’ heavy to the sultry sounds of ‘U Ranaway’ or ‘Hold It Down’, or hit your local warehouse party and jam down to ‘9 Nites 2 Nowhere’ or ‘Basement Party.’ Either way, this EP is all gravy — and it’s free, so jump down for the download. √+ Continue Reading
