FUNKAGENDA is taking CONTROL tomorrow night! Toolroom staple, Funk Farm owner, and one of my favorite DJ/producers at the moment, Funkagenda is a legend in the world of House music. His flawless blends of Progressive, Tech, and Electro are world-renowned and if you saw his earth-shaking set at Beyond Wonderland this year, you know that there is only one place to be tomorrow night. Besides the blissful hour and a half set from the Londoner, CONTROL will host an incredibly solid underbill featuring a DJ set from synthpop phenom Anoraak, an Avalon debut from our friends Savoy, and opening and closing sets from our pal ///BONES and Potty Mouth‘s TJR. Wow.

Being that it is where I’m from, you should all know that GDD loves Colorado. Especially its unique taste in music genres and the epic EDM groups that have come out of there over the years; SAVOY and Pretty Lights just to name a few. However, there is a new presence to be aware of coming straight out of Boulder, CO known as Robotic Pirate Monkey. Formed in early 2010, R.P.M. consists of the B-Town trio of Matt Berryhill, Matt Flesher and Andrew Hathaway (aka. Hathbanger). Since forming R.P.M. has grown their fan base from local to statewide, as the next big up and comers on the Colorado electronic music scene and now they have the chance to prove their weight in the Golden State. For six weeks in May and June, R.P.M. will be cruising around the great state of California, bringing their Rocky Mountain bass to the West Coast. With opening support from THiCK CHiCK and Skywalkerr, R.P.M. announces their Buried Treasure Tour with 12 stops along the West Coast (including a stop at our VERSUS party on the 19th of May) – check ‘em out below:

After a one week hiatus, CONTROL is back with a dancey lineup featuring two big shots of Disco House, the DnB gone Disco producer from Atlanta known as Treasure Fingers and one of the biggest up and coming names in the genre, BURNS. Unfortunately, a disco rollerskate boogie is most likely not allowed inside the Avalon in Hollywood on Friday night, but be sure to expect one happy crowd and two sensational DJs going all night.

On this wonderful Tuesday afternoon, I am pleased to bring you an exclusive new remix from the rapidly up and coming live electronic trio from Boulder, CO known as SAVOY.
The boys have been more than diligent in the past few months, with an appearance at the Electronic Daisy Carnival in Los Angeles in June and another YUGE main stage set at Global Dance Festival at Red Rocks back in July, among many other bookings all over the US.
This weekend SAVOY will be trekking over to the right coast for the famed Electric Zoo Festival in New York where they will be performing on the Red Bull Music Academy Stage on Sunday afternoon alongside Bassnectar, A-Trak, Aeroplane, Diplo, and more.
Many big things coming up for these talented Colorado boys, so make sure to catch them when they come to your town! (For all of my SB lovelies, they will be at West Beach Music Festival on September 24th; don’t sleep on it!)
