Lucidity Festival has made quite the name for itself, tucked away in the Santa Barbara mountains and bubbling over with up and coming talent, it’s become a can’t miss in the Spring time for fans of Symbiosis, Lightning In A Bottle, and Desert Hearts. With talent like Mark Farina, J Phlip, Eprom, Sage Armstrong, Wood Holly, and our very own, The Interns, it’s time for a good old fashioned galactic get down. To better understand the spirit of the festival, here’s a few words from the promoters themselves about the ‘Crossroads’ addition of this year’s gathering: Continue Reading
The picturesque and often sleepy city of Santa Barbara has recently produced some prominent acts in the likes of Seven Lions and Traveler. Shying away from the typical 4×4 house pattern, they’ve carved out their own unique styles of electronica. Justin Kleiner, another rising producer from Santa Barbara, has just released his Along The Way EP, and the ambient package is an impressive mixture of dramatic soundscapes and thematic drums that were prevalent in early M83 or Sigur Ros tracks. Kleiner has also drawn up a fine collection of artwork that’s tied in with the release that can be found on his site called Auxin. Grab the entire EP for free download below.
This Saturday, Gotta Dance Dirty returns to their old 805 stompin grounds for a good ol’ Back 2 School Takeover. Join us as we invade The Savoy in downtown Santa Barbara, teaming up with OnSlaught Productions and DNA Studios to bring you a very special b2b set from BONES & Troy Kurtz in the main room, along with UCSB alumni aRod and Burn Unit holding down the 3rd floor. Supporting the night will be SB local talent IDEX and MICO. School is back in session and what better way to kick off the start of fall then with a proper night of dancing dirty with our GDD fam. See you this weekend!

First off, if you were a supporter of prop 19, you need to watch this video. If you went to UC Santa Barbara (or just are a fan of college), you need to watch this video. If you are a filmmaker, you also might wanna take some notes. And finally, if you like Green Velvet, then you need to hear Breakdown’s take on his new track, ‘Dank.’
Breakdown is proud to give you their remix and music video of Green Velvet’s “Dank”. The original is more of a spoken word piece, but the brothers have turned it up with some big bump and blazin funk! The remix is here for you to stream and download along with a music video for you to enjoy!
Also, if you’re up in Santa Barbs and looking for some boom boom tomorrow night, Breakdown will be taking over the EOS lounge for the official ‘Dank’ music video release party, with support from some local heroes.
*Check out Breakdown’s Soundcloud for tons of free music, and their Official site for giveaways, tour updates and all kinds of fun stuff…
We’ll be at Indochine in downtown Santa Barbara (434 State St.) tomorrow night, come check it out if you’re feeling sexy. If you’ve never been, it’s a beautiful little place. Expect well-made (read: stiff) cocktails, a lively little dancefloor and probably the most zen, most candlelit outdoor patio area you’ve ever cigarette mingled in. We pretty much have spent every Thursday here for the last two years and couldn’t be more excited to take it over. Not to be missed: the solid gold bathroom in the back.
