Spring can now officially begin. The newaRod SpringGlo 2013 Mixis here to set the mood for the entire Spring season. From deep disco to indie-electro, from big disco to UK + deep house, this mix runs the gamut on all your favorite genres. Lustful, sleazy, bouncy vibes from the MASSIVE track list (incl. After a month of anticipation since this anthem debuted on Radio 1, Russ Chimes has leaked the full version on his Soundcloud. The timing of this release is perfect as it is sure to be the cut to kickstart your weekend spirit and take you exactly where you need to go after a long week. At first listen it seems like a very basic track, but that’s because Russ Chimes has stripped it down to the bare essentials. The vocals electrify the bouncing bass line while the four on the floor beat takes you home. Set to be released on Deconstruction/Columbia Records April 29th, it represents his first moves in 2013 following up his hit single “Back 2 You” in 2012.
The Week(end) Mix Up is here. A collection of the best new mixtapes & live sets from the past week in electronic dance music. All mixes are downloadable & ready for you to enjoy tomorrow on your drive into work. Nothing better than starting off the week with some fresh new tunes.
This week: Edwin Van Cleef returns with his newest October Mix, Russ Chimes impresses as he always does & Chuckie goes back to back with our good friend Betatraxx in Amsterdam.
London-based band Bastille (not to be confused with the LA DJ/production duo) will be releasing “Flaws,” their third single release on Virgin Records, on the 22nd of this month, and fellow Londoner and GDD™ favorite Russ Chimes has completely transformed the Pop sensibilities of the original written by frontman Dan Smith into a straight-up, dancefloor-ready House jam. While the remix has definitely increased the energy of the original, it’s retained the emotion from Smith, repeating and layering his lyrics “all of my flaws” and “let’s finish what we’ve started” all throughout. Listen below and watch the official video for the single after the jump.√+
The ever-groovy Russ Chimes released the well-received House track, “Back 2 You,” on the Positiva imprint at the end of July via Beatport, and now the single is slated for a September 17th release on Positiva/Virgin which will feature a bundle of new remixes — including this incredibly tasteful rework from Leeds producer, Hot Since 82. With tracks already released on Moda Black, Noir, Defected, and now this superb remix for Virgin, Hot Since 82 should be a name you’ll be seeing more of in coming months. √+

The Londoner, Russ Chimes, has quite the massive tune on his hands, and I’m sure you’ll be very grateful for it’s release next week just as I will be. “Back 2 You” starts with an amazingly energetic build up into strong, driving grooves complete with great melodies and a catchy sample on top. Have a listen to the excellent production from Mr. Chimes after the jump.
Sylvain Dalido AKA Popular Computer knows a bit about priorities and sacrifice. When his parental duties summoned him in 2009, he decided to take a hiatus from music production after signing with French label Kitsuné, where he had already become an original Kitsuné artist and staff producer. After 2 years of focusing on being a Dad, Popular Computer is back in a big way with a full length album titled LiTE slated for release on Chilly Gonzalez + Housse De Racket‘s label, Schmooze. Although we’re heading into winter, this album will definitely bring in some summery jams through the clouds with support from Aeroplane, Russ Chimes, The C90s, and more.

2010 saw a vast array of break out artists across the EDM spectrum, in the disco-house genre we were continually impressed by Russ Chimes‘ tunes. Last month we caught up with the British sensation, to chat about his recent Midnight Club EP and what’s to come in 2011. Here’s how it went:
GDD™: Hey Russ how was your Christmas and New Year?
You know you have the flu when wacking-off doesn’t even feel good. But, it also means a lotta good music for you! Well, actually tons of very good music. While I’ve been aching and tossing in bed, the past month has been a billowing heaven for awesome nu-disco and feel good jams. I’ll let the music speak for itself, and make sure you download ALL of it, because yes, it ALL is worth it. You can thank me later.
Breakbot Does it again, adding sweet funkified nectar to this dark drive home. LoveFoxx’s, aka lead vocals for CSS, voice is beautiful bringing this clouded masterpiece together.
OK.ok, i know this was #1 on hypeM and blogged all over the place, but i couldn’t resist. Its just that damn good. Its indie-infused which i’m a huge sucker for, and we gotta give it up for our friends, LightsOverLA.
Barretso is one of my new favorite acts, if you’re just reading this now, grab the previous post here. This song is pure glitchy happy glory. Keep your eyes peeled for both Redial and Barretso in the future, they’re taking over a light up dance floor near you.
“This is not a Malfunction!” just a very groovy track. Perfect song to toss in to those early or late night sets when the crowd starts-a-talkin’ with their hips.
Funky fresh! All of this new grum is really giving me the heebee-geebies. Here’s the video to his new single “Can’t Shake this feeling.” Its out may 3rd directed by the General assembly and produced by TownHall.
