Black Butter is just a one-stop shop for audio gold. Repping guys like Gorgon City, Rudimental, and Kidnap Kid, the London-based imprint is undeniably at 100, and Kidnap Kid‘s upcoming Stronger EP due out March 3rd is keeping it that way. Just revealed this week is the title track and A-side to the two-tune EP — a rainy day House number with some emotional vocals that personally give me an incisive Karin Dreijer Andersson vibe. Check it out for yourself below. √+
We’ve got quite a treat for you this Sunday afternoon. Our friend, Jayko, just sent us over a remix of the Rudimental track “Baby” for us to give away exclusively to YOU! Fresh off his performance on our Wide Awake Art Car at Beyond Wonderland SF, Jayko has had a string of releases this year off labels such as Sweat it Out!, Straight Up!, and Temple Music Group. This remix does not disappoint blending a touch future house and bass over the classic Rudimental vocals. Grab the track for free below and enjoy!

After a much needed sleep recharge, we awoke the next day revived and ready to hit Austin hard. Downtown was already bustling with crowds swarming the streets, a cool breeze making our trek all the worth while. Our early arrival paid off huge, beating the masses (which would later make to be one of the most serious lines we had ever seen). The Fader Fort was no makeshift showcase – the fort-like layout featured interactive areas with everything from free haircuts to foosball to a serious open bar with Bushmills Arnold Palmers and unlimited tall cans of Budweiser.
We got there just in time to see the SXSW debut of UK’s Rudimental, an incredible live performance that as they described “put soul back into electronic music.” After some downtime in the couch abundant lounge area, we caught sets by Ra Ra Riot, afro-punk duo The Bots, the heavily anticipated live performance of Disclosure (that did not disappoint), and phenom rapper Future, who brought out T.I. and Usher…
Bondax continue to push the Future envelope with their latest remix of “Not Giving In” by Rudimental. The original of “Not Giving In” is a mixture of poppy soul and drum & bass. With their remix, Bondax takes things to a whole other Bondaxian (yup, that’s a word now) level. While still maintaining the track’s original, soulful groove, Bondax’s piano poppin’ remix is full of Future bounce and strategically placed bass making it another winner for our favorite, young UK duo. OK, second favorite.
