LA transplants Prince Club and Rick Rude have recently come together for a Deep, Vocal House single built for those late night peaktime hours. “Take You” is an impressive follow-up to the hugely acclaimed EP, “Technique,” from Prince Club & Poupon released on Riva Starr‘s Snatch! imprint last month. We’re excited for 1/2 of Prince Club to now be here in Los Angeles with us, and we can’t wait to see what lies ahead. Make sure to catch Prince Club’s set tomorrow night at our HARD Afterparty — you won’t want to miss it. Download “Take You” and stream/buy “Technique” below. √+ Continue Reading

So we took last week off of The Dirt and we sincerely apologize for it, but what better way to come back this week than with a mouthwatering, user-submitted buttshot and a terrific 11-pack of tunes to get you ready for the weekend! As usual, we have a bit of everything in here, so either take our word for it and download everything via the zip files, or pick and choose which ones sound good to you. Happy Dirt day people.
JACKIN’ TECH HOUSE
• Riva Starr, Major Lazer – Jump (The Martin Brothers Remix) √+ [Beatport]
Out last month on the Snatch! subsidiary label, Snatch! Special, this remix of Jump by Christian and Justin blends the familiar sounds of Snatch! and DirtyBird and is deservedly the first track on the compilation release.
VOCAL INDIE NU DISCO
• Metronomy – Everything Goes My Way (Ewan Pearson Remix) √+ [Beatport]
I first heard this remix on Danny Daze‘s guest mix for Nic Fanciulli‘s Worldwide Sounds podcast. I love the original from Metronomy and Ewan Pearson sticks to the main elements while incorporating a great Nu Disco feel.
TECHNO + HOUSE
• Lazy Ants & Rob Threezy – Chi to Rome (Mike Mago Remix) √+
Set for release next Monday the 19th, the Chi to Rome EP from Lazy Ants and Rob Threezy incorporates some of my favorite genres: Acid House, Chicago House, and Techno. This remix from BMKLTSCH Records head honcho, Mike Mago, delivers a bit of a Chicago House vibe while incorporating the repetition of a solid Techno tune.
EPIC DREAMWAVE
• Cut Copy – Sun God (Andrew Weatherall Remix) √+
Cut Copy received a Grammy nod for Best Dance/Electronica Album a couple weeks ago for their fantastic Zonoscope LP, and in celebration they’ve released this nearly 9-minute epic remix from the legendary Brit, Andrew Weatherall. It’s a must have.
LUVSTEP
• Traveler – Phantom (Original Mix) √+
I just posted on these guys earlier this week, but I felt like I needed to include this track in The Dirt this week because it’s been on such heavy rotation since I downloaded it on Monday. Keep a serious eye out for Traveler in 2012.
DISCO
Gigamesh is heating up the Winter by bringing back the classic “Disco Inferno” with great taste and extra grooves. It’s just another gem to add to the quality Gigamesh catalog.
HEAVY ELECTRO
• Uppermost – Positive [Beatport]
Uppermost displays his refined production skills with a harder hitting, Justice type sound in “Positive,” a track of off his latest release, Action.
DRUM ‘N’ BASS
• Sigma – Do You Love [Beatport]
This round of the Dirt calls for a tune from the always dependable Sigma. I find it necessary to have a little up-tempo energy and this easily gets the job done.
BASS FUSION
I’m sure you could relate on how good it feels to come across a great artist and my latest discovery is Glasgow’s Rustie. With a unique and distinct style, he’s definitely one to look out for, especially with support from BBC’s Annie Mac.
DUBSTEP
• Metric – Collect Call (Adventure Club Remix)
They’re known for their remixes, and it’s to no surprise that Adventure Club has put together a great arrangement of Metric’s “Collect Call.” Having the foundation of great vocals to work with facilitates the production process, but they certainly take it a step further.
DOWNTEMPO
• Emancipator – Elephant Survival
Emancipator is one of my favorite producers to chill to and with his laidback, flowing vibe, there’s not much else I could ask for. If you don’t already “like” his Facebook, I suggest you do so as he gave this track out for free today after reaching 30,000 fans!

When I opened up my inbox and saw an email with Riva Starr in the title I got pretty damn excited. And then opening that message was like a revelation, a sexual awakening of sorts. There were two more names that didn’t show up in the subject line! Bearyman… Fatboy Slim? This is gonna be good… The three party starters deliver a completely unique and groovin’ tune that I wouldn’t really expect from any of them individually and I think that’s what makes this a perfect jam.
The trio advises all you dirty dancers to Get Naked in these hard economic times, where we shan’t be spending money on frivolous things like t-shirts and underwear, all of which are just going to come off at the end of the night anyways. The full ‘Get Naked’ release comes out on December 20th on Moshi Moshi/Snatch! with a remix effort from Carl Cox to boot. When the legendary Norman Cook AKA Fatboy Slim tells you to do something, you do it.
• Riva Starr & Fatboy Slim ft. Beardyman – Get Naked (Dub Mix)
ROUND TWO BONUS TUNE
This has really brightened up my day, so I thought I’d pass the joy along to you. Thanks to Yooj for turning me onto the new Little Boots single and in turn this free Crazy P remix!

The buzzing quartet from Toronto known as Azari & III have been undeniably one of the breakthrough acts of 2011. With their debut album out now on limited edition vinyl and digital retailers and the global and physical release coming on January 22nd through Island Records, Azari & III have a busy several months ahead of them. In advance of the global release, the guys will be releasing another single, ‘Reckless (With Your Love),’ on January 15th from the self-titled album, which will be accompanied by an all-star remix team including new versions from Riva Starr, Julio Bashmore, and Tiga, as well as a radio edit and mix from super-producer Paul Epworth. Yes, I really just said all of those names in the same sentence. Before these release dates, Azari & III will be touring the UK with a mindblowing live show that has already garnered support from The XX, Tinie Tempah, and even Johnny Depp! Check tour dates and grab a free new remix below!

Tune:
• Junkie XL – Molly’s E (Azari & III Instrumental Remix)
Junkie XL released his latest EP,’ Molly’s E,’ a couple weeks ago which featured 2 mixes from Azari & III, 2 mixes from Nicky Romero, and 1 from Canblaster. Not a bad lineup if you ask me.

This weekend we were at the legendary Sonar Festival in one of our favorite European cities, Barcelona. Founded 18 years ago, Sonar was the first ever daytime contemporary music festival in a European city and despite its renowned status, it’s avoided slipping into mainstream territory by continuing to showcase fresh talent.
Taking place across three days and two nights, the first thing that struck us was Sonar’s ability to coordinate such a multitude of electronic acts, hosted at two very different settings without overstepping the vibe at each spot. The 12 til 9 daytime event is a super chilled affair taking place at Barcelona’s beautiful cultural centre, just a stones throw from the Ramblas. By contrast, the 10pm til 7am night event was a rager at Fira Gran Via, a convention centre on the outskirts west of the city. While we’d love to cover every highlight from the weekend, there were just too many great moments, so instead we’ll bring you a varied shortlist of what made us tick:
BCN With just 3 days to go until Sonar in Barcelona here’s a quick heads up for the week ahead. On top of a stunning Sonar festival lineup, Barcelona plays host to over 100 Off Sonar events, and we’ve taken the liberty to whittle down our picks for those outside shows:
One day until Thanksgiving and I am thoroughly excited to grub on the giant 22 pound, free range turkey that my mom purchased from some awesome grocery store in Memphis. Anyway, I hope that all you dirty dancers have an amazing Thanksgiving tomorrow and travel safe to wherever you may. After you awaken out of your Tryptophan food comas on Friday afternoon, make sure you come on by the Avalon to dance off your excessive caloric intake as Made To Play frontman, Jesse Rose, will be on the 1′s + 2′s along with Boys Noize Records‘ D.I.M., who pretty much epitomizes the quintessential dirty dancer’s set with a vast amassment of banging techno and reverberating electro. ///BONES will also be holding down the closing set so make sure you hang around to catch his epic latenight choons.
