Not being able to choose a favorite song from a quality remix package is a good problem to have. On the remix package for his latest song “Same Hearts” (featuring Bear Mountain), Pat Lok presents us with this most glorious of problems. The original is a dreamy, cosmic jam that straddles the line between Deep Disco & House while the remix package offers up a little bit of everything ranging from Indie Funk (Oxford) to Darkside Haus (Shelby Grey) to 80s Disco Funk (Ride The Universe…my personal favorite). And if that’s not enough for you, just ask the experts:
Goldroom: “really like RTU mix and Oxford’s, original is super fun and stands out with an original style” Mighty Mouse:“love this, all versions great” Drop Out Orchestra:“The Ride The Universe Remix is fun!” Cosmo Baker: “Pat Lok does it again. A stomper.” Cyclist:“Greatest song ever written”
So the experts all agree: Pat has a great package.
Back in February, Electronic Rumors released Electronic Rumors Volume 1 and THE standout track on the compilation was “A Little Better” by Ride The Universe (feat. Jane Elizabeth Hanley). After months of tearing up disco dance floors all over the world with support by RAC, Jeremy Glenn, A.N.D.Y., Jupiter, Bufi, Cassian, CC Disco, Sammy Bananas, Debonair & Jowie Schulner, “A Little Better” is finally ready for its grand debut.
The single features remixes from a who’s who of disco, house, electropop & synthwave producers including Frankmusik, Pat Lok, Dublin Aunts & Melee. The remix package also includes our favorite Disco DictatorAuxiliary Tha Masterfader, featured here today. And who better to help Ride The Universe deliver that dreamy unicorn funk than our man in Amsterdam, Auxiliary Tha Masterfader!
“A Little Better” is out November 5th exclusively on Juno and out November 19th everywhere via Electronic Rumors.
Electronic Rumors recently released a compilation entitled Volume 1 (snappy title) and THE standout jam on the compilation is the track “A Little Better”, the debut original track from Ride The Universe (who had only graced us with some fantastic remix work thus far in their career).
On February 14th, L.A. originals, Binary, released “Dreams” – the much anticipated collaboration between Futurecop! and Binary’s own Keenhouse. Yesterday we featured the original track on our Waves ≠ Raves Vol. 6 and today we are having a go at the outstanding trio of remixes.
On “Dreams”, Keenhouse’s lyrics deal with hope in a grown up world and are coupled with Futurecop’s signature feel-good melodies, all of which make for some super solid power pop. Ride The Universe, ODahl & Show Your Shoe all up the ante with their futuristically funky+soulful remixes (PrinceWave?), each taking the track to new levels.
For Futurecop! + Binary in 2011, UP, indeed, is the only way.
