GDD™ + DANCEiSM present VS. Launch Party — Thursday 1/6

The time has finally come. GDD™ and DANCEiSM have teamed up to bring a weekly electronic party to the West Side of Los Angeles in 2011. For those of you who missed it, we threw a VS. preview party back in November with Ooah (The Glitch Mob), Peacetreaty, Mr. White, ///BONES, and Kenya, and after hearing such supportive responses about the venue, music selection, and overall experience, we have decided to make The Central in Santa Monica our new home on Thursdays this year. This Thursday will be the launch of VS., and we have called upon friends to come out and DJ our first party with us. We’ll have DJs from Shifty Rhythms, Uh Oh Disco, GDD™, and DANCEiSM on hand for some great tunage, so please come out to support the birth of a new, West Side party that will hopefully bring new life to the Los Angeles electronic scene. We are extremely excited about this new venture, and we hope that you all come out and show us the amazing, continued support + love you’ve had for GDD™ in the past years. Here’s to 2011!

Mark Ronson x Hervé, Holy Ghost!, Congorock & Redial

Sometimes having too many collaborators on one track can backfire and result in (for lack of better terminology) a big fat turd. Conversely, these types of collaborations can also result in absolute gold. Such is the case on what is surely one of the best pop songs of 2010: “Somebody to Love Me” by Mark Ronson & The Business Intl. Written by Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters), Cathy Dennis & Anthony Rossomando (Dirty Pretty Things/Klaxons) and featuring vocals by dream duo Boy George and Andrew Wyatt (Miike Snow), “Somebody to Love Me” is pop perfection.

I got the FLU!

You know you have the flu when wacking-off doesn’t even feel good. But, it also means a lotta good music for you! Well, actually tons of very good music. While I’ve been aching and tossing in bed, the past month has been a billowing heaven for awesome nu-disco and feel good jams. I’ll let the music speak for itself, and make sure you download ALL of it, because yes, it ALL is worth it. You can thank me later.
Breakbot Does it again, adding sweet funkified nectar to this dark drive home. LoveFoxx’s, aka lead vocals for CSS, voice is beautiful bringing this clouded masterpiece together.
Can’t get enough of Mr. Russ chimes. Its dreamy and dancey at the same time. Goes together like peas and carrots.
OK.ok, i know this was #1 on hypeM and blogged all over the place, but i couldn’t resist. Its just that damn good. Its indie-infused which i’m a huge sucker for, and we gotta give it up for our friends, LightsOverLA.
Cassian and Miami Horror, what could be sweeter? Probably only sugar cane dropping from the teet of megan fox.

Barretso is one of my new favorite acts, if you’re just reading this now, grab the previous post here. This song is pure glitchy happy glory. Keep your eyes peeled for both Redial and Barretso in the future, they’re taking over a light up dance floor near you.
“This is not a Malfunction!” just a very groovy track. Perfect song to toss in to those early or late night sets when the crowd starts-a-talkin’ with their hips.
Funky fresh! All of this new grum is really giving me the heebee-geebies. Here’s the video to his new single “Can’t Shake this feeling.” Its out may 3rd directed by the General assembly and produced by TownHall.
