If you produce music, sing, or consider yourself a maverick behind the decks and told yourself at the beginning of 2014 that this was going to be your year, then the fine folks at Red Bull might be able to help your dreams come to life. The Red Bull team is taking their roving Music Academy to Tokyo from October 12 – November 14 where selected applicants will be invited to an all expenses paid journey to Tokyo to enjoy recording sessions, lectures by some of the most respected talents in the industry, as well as nightly concerts. If you’re thinking that you wouldn’t mind spending a couple weeks in Tokyo surrounded by inspirational, like-minded artists, then all you have to do is head to Red Bull and fill out the RBMA application form before March 18.
Last night, for the very first time, Disco legend and arguably the father of modern dance music, Giorgio Moroder, performed at the Output club in Brooklyn for the Red Bull Music Academy. Best known for his work with Donna Summer, Freddie Mercury, David Bowie and Daft Punk and scores for Scarface and Flashdance, Moroder drew hundreds out to BK for this landmark performance…and we were one of the lucky few who got to witness it first hand!
