My personal one to watch for this year is on a warpath of production and his newest creation doesn’t stray from that truth. The mysterious Parisian known as Tchami has spread his viral sound this year into some huge originals and remixes for the likes of Mercer, AlunaGeorge, Oliver and more. Today he dropped a preview to his forthcoming original “Untrue” and it is on another level of feels. I’ll just stop talking and you can just listen below…
Just earlier today, the queen Annie Mac debuted the new Jack Beats original “Beatbox” on her BBC Radio 1 show. We’re happy to hear another deeper groove from Beni G and Plus One, this one is favored for the club. Expect to hear this at SXSW and WMC, as it’s set for a March 18th release on the LA collective imprint OWSLA. Listen below and be on the lookout!
Porchester Hall in London yielded three sold out shows for trance trio Above & Beyond where they performed acoustic versions of their original productions for sold out audiences, some set to be released on their upcoming project. Based off the London performance’s success, two special Los Angeles performances have been slated for Oct 13th and 14th. Those who follow A&B on facebook saw that the historic Greek Theater has been chosen as the home for this special performance. Along with the announcement of venue, a one minute preview of “Love Is Not Enough” was released to quell anticipations of what an acoustic set could bring.
Australia’s RÜFÜS have released a preview for the first single off their upcoming debut record, ATLAS, packed with all the essential down under vibes that have boosted their name into the dance music scene. If this jazzy driving dance tune is any indication as to what the finished album will sound like, the sounds of summer will be bottled up perfectly in 11 track fashion. For those who want more than just the anticipatory snippet, “Sundream” is available in it’s entirety for those who pre-order their freshmen LP on iTunes although the U.S. store does not currently carry the project yet.
Riding much deserved hype from his widely supported tracks “The Giver” and “Street Walker”, the UK-based Duke Dumont gave the world a taste of his newest single “Need U” recently on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show. Featuring anthemic vocals from A*M*E, this tune is on course to be a staple in DJ sets to come and another breakthrough for the Duke. Listen below and get busy!
After a massive performance at HARD Summer Music Festival, we’re teaming up with Louisville-based producer Amtrac to bring you his forthcoming ‘Hey There Kiddo’ mixtape exclusively on GDD. Check out the video preview above, which teases in tracks and samples from the mix w/ subliminal imagery that gives you feel of a vintage public service announcement.
Coming off the massive release ‘Pari’ with Bart B More, the newly LA-settled Harvard Bass wastes no time in dropping a huge new EP teaser on us to start the weekend. The PLEX EP is forthcoming on Teenage Riot Records (headed by JFK of MSTRKRFT), and features the new original along with three incredibly eclectic versions provided by Ego Troopers, St. Mandrew and John Roman. Ringing true to his sound, the EP title track ‘Plex’ is a whirlwind of techno, driven by HB’s signature buzzing leads and stabbing kicks. The remixes, however, make it ‘something for everyone’ – from Ego Troopers’ dutch house, the chainsaw electro of St. Mandrew and the deeper bass and staggering tribal sounds of John Roman. Check it out below, and grab it on July 31st.
After the release of Peter & The Magician‘s “Memory,” Pierre-Alexandre Busson is back at it under the Yuksek name. The Edge EP contains all of the great french disco flavor that we have come to expect from such a high-caliber artist. If that wasn’t enough, there are also a handful of awesome remixes from Panteros666, Aeroplane, Beni, and KIM to keep it a well-rounded release. Check out the previews after the jump.
