GLOWFest is a pretty wild music festival touring college campuses. Here, we get an inside look into the antics, situations and parties on the road they call their lives. And they’re looking to add to this team…
Pretty Lights is coming to town this Saturday along with quite the crew. If you’re looking to go to this epic night to be, we’re giving you the chance to win one of three pairs of tickets that we have to give out! See how to enter after the jump.
Tomorrow, Burn Unit and I will be embarking on our journey North to the first SnowGlobe Music Festival in Lake Tahoe for New Year’s Eve. The excitement and anticipation of the Wintery mountain vibes coupled with a star-studded lineup leaves me with an urge to turn the clocks forward so the festivities can finally commence. Not only is this festival great for the music, but also the other things that the organizers are including such as the art, installations, and performers that will create an experience unique to this year’s SnowGlobe. If you still don’t have plans for NYE, you may regret not taking advantage of this excellent opportunity, so grab tickets while you still can.
On top of the outstanding festival line-up you can’t forget about the official late night events taking place put on by our good friends from SF BLAP Productions, with performances by Porter Robinson, Dillon Francis, MiM0SA, and more every night from Thursday to Saturday! On Friday night make sure to catch GDD’s very own Matt Black aka Burn Unit spinning with Madeon at the Horizon Stateline Casino! Click the link above for tickets!
If you can’t make it, come back here next week for our full review! Check out my tentative artist selections, videos, and some relevant music for the drive out after the jump.
I hope you all had a great weekend! We’re catching up on this Monday with Steve Aoki & Datsik’s tour, David Guetta’s handprint ceremony, Pretty Lights teaming up with BitTorrent, a Plastikman video trilogy, and the BBC Sound 2012 nominees.
I think it’s safe to say that Pretty Lights has a knack for bringing back music that is nostalgic in nature through his excellent taste and refined aural senses. To no surprise, he has done it yet again with a remix of the old SSX video game classic, Run DMC’s “It’s Tricky.” It’s great to hear how Pretty Lights has explored darker, more ominous tones in this remix, as well as his recent releases, while still maintaining the overall good vibes. The video above is from his sold-out two night run in Alpharetta, GA last month and as you can see, he has been exhausting crowds in the best way possible from East to West. Keep an eye out for a GDD™ premier & download of this remix in the coming weeks!
It’s a mid-month Wednesday and as per usual, there are several things worth informing you about. Today’s update begins with Deadmau5’s new Las Vegas residency, then moves on into Avicii’s US record deal, Pretty Lights’ Sirius radio show, a UK festival awards round-up, and iTunes match legitimizing music piracy. To go along with the Deadmau5 headliner, I included his cover of Radiohead’s “Codex” for your listening pleasure. Listen and be informed after the jump.
