Mikah Freeman and Vance Musgrove are The Aston Shuffle — a duo out of Australia who produce some extremely danceable tunes in addition to running Friday Night Shuffle, a radio show on the prominent Triple J in Sydney. Last month, the guys put out the Won’t Get Lost EP on NYC imprint, Plant Music, accompanied by a party of remixes — my favorite coming from Solo — and today the guys have put together a mixtape in honor of the May release. Tons of great music stuck in here, including originals from Country Club, Jan Driver, Strip Steve, and more. Have a listen to the mix and EP below. Continue Reading

Our good friend John Roman has just released his Sala EP today on Plant Music, and he is being kind enough to give away the b-side to you in full quality! The track, ‘War Drums,’ has already received support from many producers including Mr. Theo Keating, AKA Fake Blood, who very eloquently pointed out the obvious, stating, “You can’t not dance to this.” We’re also excited to be in the works of collaborating with PIE Artists for a tour for John this July and August where he’ll be supporting the amazing Belgian duo, Mumbai Science, with dates from SD to SF already booked up! Make sure to keep up on John’s Facebook and head on over to Beatport to pick up the full Sala EP release today!
Montreal’s Grandtheft, also known as GT, has established himself as one of Canada’s most in-demand djs through his trademark high-energy sound, mostly incorporating his own edits/remixes and originals. To date, GT has delivered successful remixes for Steve Aoki (Dim Mak), Metric (Last Gang), Juan MacLean (DFA) and Drake (Young Money). Many of these and his highly-circulated white-label remixes have risen to the top of the Hype Machine popular 100 charts. Co-founder of The Eh! Team, and co-owner of Montreal’s favorite little dance club, Blue Dog Motel, GT is also known as one half of the Team Canada DJs who this past year played to a crowd of over 100,000 in Ottawa for Canada Day Live on Parliament Hill and were selected as the official DJs of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

2010 saw Will Eastman’s debut single, “Feelin’” reverberate on dance floors around the world. His work caught the attention of people all over the world and even landed on Fatboy Slim’s “Weapons of Choice” Beatport Chart and Kissy Sell Out’s BBC Radio One playlist.
This past week Eastman unleashed his follow-up single. This time he collaborated with fellow Washington, DC producer Micah Vellian and Baltimore emcee TT The Artist. The result is “No Sleep,” a vocal workout over a synthed-out funk groove.
Heavyweights Treasure Fingers and Bird Peterson deliver monster, peak time remixes, just as you’ve come to expect from them, while Lazaro Casanova brings a sexy late-night slow-burner. Loopjack (the alias of Toronto’s John Roman) comes with some Chicago flavor and Germany’s Tagteam Terror pump things up with their high-energy mix. For the Dub mix Eastman and Vellian take the Original back to 1984 with some Axle Foley action.
