All representatives of the French Express imprint had an amazing year in 2012 — constantly producing jam after groovy jam as well as hitting the road across the globe. This month, 2 of the label’s stalwart producers, Perseus and Jonas Rathsman, were called upon by BBC’s Pete Tong for their hand at an Essential Mix, and the pair took the opportunity full on and curated a tracklist of pure gold. MIA: Perseus + Moon Boots @ Bardot 6.7.12

The first warm kisses of summer’s lips are upon us, and we’re releasing the tension in style on Thursday at Bardot in Miami. French Express bossman and nouveau-tropical wunderboy Perseus cruises down with label mate Moon Boots for their first Magic City appearance alongside Pirate Stereo and myself. Doors swing wide at 10pm and pre-sale tickets are available for $12 online. Here’s a little taste of Moon Boot’s brand new tune ‘Monsoon Season’ that is forthcoming on Deep & Disco Records July 9th.

Chris Malinchak – Ironbound EP

The crusader of cool, Mr. Chris Malinchak just polished off the finishing touches on his 3rd studio EP from the awesome French label, French Express. The label happens to be home to feel-good kings and GDD™ favorites: Jonas Rathsman, Perseus, & Moonboots to name a few.  Chris’ new album features 5 tracks bringing back the funk while offering just the right amount of diversity. The title track “There I Was (Again)” is absolutely amazing, but I have to say my loyalty lies with “Fuego”, the track that was featured on The Magician‘s previous Magic Tape.
