LDN – Having recently set up his new Marble label with co-founders Bobmo and Surkin, Para One is set to play an exclusive London date next Saturday at Scala in Kings Cross, where he’ll be joined by Paul Chambers and Autokratz among others. (Full Listing info after the jump)
The new French electro label was started in response to the recently disbanded Institubes imprint. A statement from Para One’s manager read: “Even though the demise of Institubes may come as a shock to the electronic music world, when Para decided to team up with the others to form Marble there was no doubt in my mind and theirs that this is going to be a huge success. It will continue to carry the French electronic sound that is already gaining worldwide attention.”
Amen to that. Here’s a 3 minute mix of Marble’s forthcoming material, including new tunes from Para One, Surkin, Das Glow, Myd, Canblaster, and Bobmo:
I’m sure many of you have seen the name Clockwork before. Whether it was on GDD™, Hype Machine, or on the winner’s list of multiple big time remix competitions, it is pretty apparent that this young lad has made some waves in Electroland in the past year. Originally from LA, now transplanted in NYC, Henry Steinway (Clockwork) is on the rise in the world of Electro, but he doesn’t want to bore you with 2008 sidechaining and heard-that-before bangers. His unique take on the over-saturated genre ostracizes his music from the repetition that we are all getting a bit sick of.
I got a chance to chat a bit with Henry about some exciting upcoming releases and his recent Dem Slackers remix competition win as well as his stance on Electro and where he sees it going from here. We were also lucky enough to snag a GDD™ Exclusive mixtape from Clockwork featuring a handful of unreleased and exclusive tracks, so make sure you grab that with the interview after the jump.
another scion party for all you folks! Scion and Kitsune Records bring you the Pioneer CD release at the Echo in Los Angeles on March 11th. Headlining the event will be LA’s own, GUNS ‘N’ BOMBS, who will be accompanied by a live set by HEARTSREVOLUTION, and some good spinning from Beni and Acid Girls as well. Again, this a free show so just RSVP here and you get in for just looking so damn good. On that note, here are some great remixes in honor of GnB’s “Riddle of Steel”.
