Our SF friends known as The M Machine have always had a knack for taking Pop songs and rendering them into their own vision. From their vicious remix of Lil Jon’s “I Do” as Pance Party to this most recent remix of Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven,” the trio find a way to maintain the catchy sensibilities of the originals while providing a dollop of their style of Dance music on top. The guys take a glitchy, DnB direction with this remix released today on Atlantic Records, and I’m into it.
Bay Area dirty dancers who won’t be making the pilgrimage this weekend to HARD Haunted Mansion will be delighted to know that Death Crew 77 will be performing live this Tuesday at Mezzanine with support from Gotta Dance Dirty™ favorites Pance Party! The first person send an email to tronjeremy at gottadancedirty dot com with a link of Bob Rifo’s uncovered face will win a pair of tickets to the madness. In the meantime, check out some of my favorite tunes from these heavy hitters and keep your eyes peeled for one more San Francisco ticket giveaway this week!
Tomorrow night at Electro Pop Rocks, the Bay Area’s longest-running weekly electro party, I’ll have the honor of opening for the one and only Pance Party with a closing set from Trouble and Bass’Star Eyes. It’s been a minute since I played an awesome gig like this so I’ll be pulling out the stops to get you sweating and yes, there might be a pinch of brostep in there as well. Peep the facebook invite for the rest of the details and I hope to see y’all there.
We’ve covered Pance Party’s discography pretty thoroughly so I dug through their soundcloud and unearthed some very underrated remixes of theirs. Check it out.
While I’ll be sticking to my electro roots for most of my set tomorrow, I did get in touch with my dark side this summer when our good friends at Hot Biscuits kindly asked Troy, ///BONES, and me to contribute to their Mini Mix Series. 25 minutes of merciless brostep with a smooth finish, this mix and two others, along with tracklists, can be found free for download at hotbizzies.com.
If you guys are long time readers of GDD™, you’d know how much love we have for our good friends Pance Party from San Francisco. Besides being a trio of rad dudes, Ben, Eric, and Andy continue to impress me with each new release they send our way. This time, the boys have put together another hard-hitting remix for the new single from powerpop band, The Dance Party, who will be releasing their new album, Touch, at the end of September. So grab this and make sure to keep your eyes out for Pance Party’s latest collaboration with Valerna, the Robobot EP, which should be coming out soon!
Dirty Electro, live lighting, live visuals, live nudity, and tons of live absurdity. With epic talent, and a production strongly supported by friends: Electric Generation, Techno Color Kids, Dancism, Everyday, Shifty Rhythms, Gotta Dance Dirty, Play Farer, Bohemia Now, and EntertainLA, this will definitely not be a night to miss.

For those of you living under a rock, Blow Up is the longest-running (and sweatiest) electro party in San Francisco, proudly earning the title of America’s Best Party from Paper Magazine. After a short hiatus, this Saturday is its fifth year anniversary and Gotta Dance Dirty™ pals Skeet Skeet and Pance Party alongside resident Jeffrey Paradise will be murking the dancefloor and making it rave rain. The fifth entrant to email me at tronjeremy at gottadancedirty dot com with their first and last name scores a pair of tickets for Saturday’s mayhem. Good news groms, this party is 18+!!
EDIT: Congratulations to our winner Annie L! Advance tickets are still on sale: $15 if you’re sub 21, $10 if you’re over 21. As a ¡BONUS!, advance ticket holders will be notified of an exclusive online pre-sale to purchase tickets to next month’s Blow Up with electro messiah Steve Aoki. Get busy!
Just as we were recovering from their first face-melting EP earlier this year (can you say Fun Factory?), the new Pance Party EP “Let’s Get Invisible” comes out tomorrow today. Now if you’ve been in the mood for some fresh French electro, “Chocolates” is unlike any other Pance Party track to date. In fact, it’s my favorite of “Let’s Get Invisible” and perhaps their entire discography. Don’t sleep on these teasers we posted earlier this month and be sure to cop that EP when it drops on Beatport!
This Saturday in San Francisco, I’ll be headlining the dubstep brostep room upstairs from our good friends Pance Party and local DJ hero Sleazemore for the kickoff of a new monthly party called BPM. With a lineup like this, attendance is a no brainer. Be sure to check out the facebook event for more details.
Pance Party will be releasing the followup to their “Kim Jong Thrill” EP on June 9, entitled “Let’s Get Invisible”. They’ve uploaded teasers of two of the tracks to YouTube; Promo 1 will get your face dripping before Promo 2 melts the rest of it away, Care Bears-style.
Hot damn I’m already looking forward to the weekend. This week the lovely people at CONTROL present a doubleheader of a night with a DJ set by Phillip Jung of M.A.N.D.Y. and a performance by GDD™ favorite Felix Cartal. Felix is making an LA stop on his latest tour to promote his new album, Popular Music which can be purchased on Beatport now. The new CD is absolutely amazing, and it is very apparent that Felix has not slowed down in his talented productions whatsoever. He’ll be cruising around the US until late April so definitely catch him at a spot near you if you can’t make it out to the Avalon this Friday.
Our good friends Pance Party will be gracing the Honey Lounge this week so get on in there to catch a mind-blowing, ear drum kicking, hipster-stomping experience. Oh ya, you know ///BONES will bring the ruckus like always as well.
Please RSVP and send names to JONAHDANCESDIRTY@gmail.com to be on our discount ticket list for the evening. Pricing will be as follows:
21+: 10$ before 11pm 15$ after
under 21: 10$ before 11pm 15$ after
*Sorry for the price mix-up here guys. 5$ cheaper now on our list.
21+ enters through the left side Honey Lounge entrance and the youngsters cruise through the main central entrance.
Here are some low quality tracks fresh off of Felix’s new album, so when you decide you love them in 5 minutes, buy his CD won’t ya? And yes, these are all √+ worthy.
