It’s been a while since we’d heard from Berlin-based Pablo Decoder, and we now know why. He’s been focusing on his live project, Lili Et Klaus, and by the sound of the new EP, Optimism of the Will, I couldn’t be more excited to hear more from the alternate moniker. “Falling Et Growing” is best described as spacey, deep, and airy, and these characteristics are tied together seamlessly in the free giveaway. Get it here and head over to Soundcloud for more.

So finals have ended for me this week, leaving one last quarter of my college career…kind of scary but also pretty liberating. Anyways, my spring break has commenced and I have ventured out to Tennessee to visit my family before I lose another ten years off of my life at WMC in Miami next week. Not really quite sure what to do out here in Memphis so I’ve been drinking and downloading heavily (always a good combo). So here are 10 (yes 10!) tracks that I have found to be personally appealing and I hope you can skip daintily through airports to them like I did yesterday. Party on Garth.

Great choon…much better than the Zodiac Cartel remix I think.
I’ve been rocking my 3rd nut off to this. Reminds me of something Pendulum-esque.
Don’t be fooled by the slow opening. You know how naughty 16Bit is.
Great new electro from Nashville, TN. Cheers to Nashville Nights for these ones.
New track off of Mixmag‘s cover CD. He’s back. Finally.
2 good ones for all you Nu-Disco freaks out thurr.
Great minimal usage of the vocals in this one. Bravo.
Nice housey track out on the Culprit label. Like what those guys are doing.

BONUS!
Crookers, Yelle, and Junkie XL? c’mon maaaaan.

Hope you enjoy these, let me know which ones you like. See you in Miami!

Let me introduce myself all you Dirty Dancers out there. My name is Kevin and I am the newest addition to the GDD crew. I am real excited to now be a part of the GDD revolution. I look forward to bringing you kids the freshest new sounds out there while keeping up the quality of music GottaDanceDirty has always been known for.

Well enough of me talking, I will keep my opinion out of this post and just let the beats do the talking:

Etienne De Crecy – Welcome (Pablo Decoder Remix)
Wolfgang Gartner – Undertaker (Original Mix)
Huoratron – Gbay (Original Mix)
Gooseflesh – Dodgems (Cyberpunks Remix)
Timbaland feat. Soshy & Nelly Furtado – Mornin’ After Dark (Wolfgang Gartner Remix)
Don Diablo & Sidney Samson – Monster (Original Mix)
The Loops of Fury – Soap (Hatiras Remix)

Lots of songs in one post, but had to come out with my guns blazing

Enjoy Kids.

2009 was gnarly. MJ died. Obama was the cool black dude who got elected as president, but now everyone’s scratching their head wondering how he could be worse than the last bro, and this bass heavy genre of filth called dubstep kicked previous chart-topping bloghaus tracks to the curb. Here are some of my humble comments and selections from the year:

Biggest Dubstep ‘chune’ Emalkay – When I Look At You
-Few songs deserve the title of being called mega. This track goes so far beyond it. Skream dropped it during a set in Miami and I seriously thought this was the end of music as we knew it as kids literally bum-rushed the stage. After Emalkay pushed back the release date a few months, DJs were frothing at the bit to finally have the tune at their fingertips.

Das Elektronic Erol Alkan & Boys Noize – Waves
-While everyone and their brother either went mnml or wobble wobble, electronic gods Erol Alkan and Boys Noize stuck to their guns and produced a 9 minute epic. If you were a big time festival DJ in Europe worth your salt, you played this song.

Nu-Disco Loveys Damn Arms – Destination Pt. II
-This synth work in this track is second to none. It gets better every time I listen to it. I love it so so so much. Like seriously, so much.

Wobble Wobble Jack Beats – Get Down (VIP Edit)
-This summer I was in LA and spent the entire month of July and into August counting down the days to see Jack Beats are Hardfest. Long story short, cops busted the joint down and I never got to see him. FAIL.

Club Track Major Lazer – Pon de Floor
-Sure, we’ve all about had enough of this mayjah lazah song, but there is no denying how stoked you were the first few times you heard it out. If you told me that dancehall would be the biggest thing pon de charts since Justice, I would have told you to stop smoking so much reefer mon.

MNML-TEK HAUS Lazy Jay – Float My Boat (Pablo Decoder)
-I’m not gonna lie, my dad could probably produce a better ‘minimal’ song than most of the shit I hear these days (looking at you kid who just got ableton), but this Pablo Decoder track is massive.

!! RAVE !! D.I.M. & TAI – Lyposuct
-Easiest choice so far. Drugz and layzurs.

Hottest Babe who can sing award Ellie Goulding – Under the Sheets (Jeuce Rework)
If I was a chick I would be really envious of Miss Ellie Goulding. Her voice is too sexy. This Jeuce remix is my favorite out of the million floating around the blogosphere too (watch out for these UK kids next year)

So that about wraps up 2k9. Dub, disco, wobble and some cheeky stuff sprinkled in between. You could probably make a damn fine mix if you put them all together (food for thought) Anywho, here’s to more celebrities failing to realize that, yes, if you take too many drugs, you will die and people will mourn you via twitter (too soon??) Dance on into 2010 you dirty kids.

IS the day and age of the ‘banger’ dead? Will another noisy Italian duo emerge in the latter half of ’09 with hand claps, chain-saw synths and chest thumping bass? Eh, probably not…but the electro-fistpumper’s step cousin Mr. MNML has been garnering the attention of many of your favorite artists and DJs, so be on the lookout for some cleaner drumlines and more boops and tings. Enclosed for your listening pleasure are a few of my favorite in the ‘genre’: NOOB, Afrojack, Lazy Jay, Pablo Decoder (highly recommend for any DJ who gets stuck with the late-night sets, or if you tend to play at a lot of raves)

Dance Area – AA 24/7 (NOOB Remix)
Lazy Jay – Float My Boat (Pablo Decoder Remix)
Afrojack – Polkedots
