Our LA friends Oliver and Thee Mike B did a funky new update on the Blondie classic “Heart Of Glass”, paying homage to the golden tune and also not a bad way to groove into the summer vibes… here’s what they had to say:

“We wanted to give something away when we hit 10K on Twitter. This one is for all the fans and DJs that have supported us, we love you! This is a record that we grew up with as children so we wanted to keep it classic, and groovy. Hope you enjoy it!”

Last Saturday we returned once again to one of our favorite haunts, Webster Hall NYC. But this time it was a bit of a special occasion… aside from 4/20, A-Trak was back in town and Webster was kicking off the start of their new weekly Brite Nites party….and it was an insane night to say the least. Check out what went down after the jump!

The boys over at Solé have taken us on yet another musical journey.  If Lionel Richie was fueled by propane, sported reebok pumps and night crawled the mean streets of Venice, you’d end up with something that sounded a little bit like, well… let’s just say we were lucky enough to capture the radness in this month’s Fixtape.  Solé Bicycle Co. is pleased to present this month’s Fixtape, from LA’s own,Oliver, the electro-funk super group of Oliver Goldstein & Vaughn Oliver. They’ve been making waves with their deep undertones, infectiously funky riffs, and intergalactic space beats, sure to make your mother shutter. Whether you prowl dark alleys hanging out in various voodoo circles or spend your free time spreading funky mayo on your friend’s sandwiches, this Fixtape is for you. Strap on your helmet and chuck the deuce, because you’re on the highway to hell.

Championing the future, nu-disco sound is our man, Gigamesh. Following his All My Life EP he recently released this single via Nervous Records and I ain’t lying when I say it’s been on repeat for a week! Bright synths, classic disco vocals and a groovy driving beat mean this is one you just gotta have. Plus, for a double dose of funk grab the Oliver remix too! Enjoy!

Take a drive with Destructo and Oliver through scenic LA and get ready to get your dance on! This latest video from the LA native will certainly have you groovin’ in your seats or dancing in your office if you’re anything like me.

These sweet shots of Little Tokyo, Venice Beach boardwalk, Hollywood Boulevard and LACMA have me longing to move out west and flee from the frigid NYC weather. Enjoy!

Finally! After getting teased for about a year over this track, it will finally see the light of day and be released worldwide on the 5th. ‘We Can’t Fly’ by Aeroplane was actually one of the first remixes Oliver ever did as a duo, and considered to be so good, it would get its own release down the road, while being a secret weapon for the few who possessed it. Well now its out of the woodworks, so get your fill; It’s a golden goodie.

The new single from Usher has immersed itself completely in the dance music community in the past few weeks, with a staggering 9 acclaimed producers remixing the original for RCA. Today, 3 producers from Europe that you wouldn’t really expect to hop on board an Usher track have done just that; with Marble‘s Surkin, Made to Play‘s Oliver $, and the French supergroup, Club Cheval, all trying their hand at the commercial release. Stream all 3 of them and find out which one is my favorite below. Continue Reading
