Italian-born, Los Angeles resident, Congorock, has just released the remix pack for his smasher ‘Ivory’ on Ultra Music today, and it’s suited with an all-star cast of producers including Laidback Luke, The Bloody Beetroots, Mumbai Science, and NT89. Pretty darn serious. Each remix is great on its own as well. Laidback Luke’s new rendition is more of an edit, staying true to Rocco’s initial arrangement while deepening and darkening the original with some additional heavy bass. The Bloody Beetroots stay true to their grungy Electro roots, while Mumbai Science and NT89 bring on the Techno in a big way. Stream the whole EP and take a look at Congorock’s North American tour in June after the jump, and make sure to pick up the EP on Beatport pronto! √+ Continue Reading

19 year old producer Etnik has got me counting down the days until his newest EP, Vino drops.  The title track, Vino is full of huge drops, analog sounding synths and a certain dark yet brilliant sound that has become rare in todays EDM scene. The Vino EP will feature a first class set of remixes from Rynecologist, NT89 and Borussia.  The EP is due to drop on April 10th.

Burns & NT89 dropped their massive new single, Traffic. No surprises here folks, big builds accompanied with even bigger drops and enough energy to destroy any dancefloor. The entire EP is killer, with stellar remixes from both Attaque and Autokratz!

Much Love,
TRE

If the rapidly rising Italian producer, NT89, isn’t on your radar just yet, it will be after you soak in his latest release out on Bad Life Records, Payne EP. Deep, dark, and grungy are the first adjectives that come to mind after listening to the 3 track EP, complete with two originals and a remix from Bang Gang/Mad Decent rep, Obi Blanche. Already picking up hype from Mumbai Science, Bobmo, Paul Chambers, and more, I’m pretty sure we might even witness the big guns like Tiga and Erol playing out this Future Techno masterpiece known as Payne. Pick it up on Beatport now.

This week marked the official start of summer, and what better way to welcome my next mix – dedicated the almighty festival season and of course the infamous 3 month vacation that all you people know and love. I’m sure most of you will be hitting the road to Las Vegas this weekend for the big one, so this is your goto firestarter for the road trip ahead. For all those otherwise, pump this at work, while you’re pre-gaming before going to the Avalon (or our VERSUS party), stuck in not cool traffic, or when the DJ you booked for your ‘glow’ party just ain’t bringin it. Welcome to summer my dirty dancers, get after it.

Pay attention kiddos, big tunes ahead!  In this week’s edition of “The Dirt,” we are proud to present the incredibly talented, Linus Eklow, aka Style of Eye.  The Stockholm native is known for his eclectic sound, which stylistically utilizes a fresh blend of techno, house and a healthy dose of raw, grinding electro. He has had a considerable amount of success with releases on Dirtybird Records, whom you’ll recall from the from Claude VonStroke/Justin Martin CONTROL at Avalon last Friday.  With support from some of dance music’s biggest names (John Dahlback, Tiga, and Swedish House Mafia to name a few), Style Of Eye is on track to fulfilling DJ Mag’s prediction of becoming an “Important Future Star.”  We predict he will continually blow us away with innovative productions, pumping DJ sets and generally just being a really cool guy.  Most of these are unreleased or brand new so read more for streams of his top tracks with my commentary after the jump…

If you are like me, you know that NT89 is HELL OF underrated. Respected on both Turbo and Southern Fried recordings, Nima Tahmasebi has produced some of the best hard house and techno remixes that are in full support by the likes of Crookers, Tiga, Erol Alkan, Laurent Garnier, Diplo, The Bloody Beetroots, Congorock, Shinichi Osawa, Brodinski and Style of Eye.
Just recently, he became part of the PIE artists management family, alongside Mumbai Science, Prince Club, Van Toth and Bareback DJs (just to name a few). We are excited for this addition to PIE artists because as they are also a Los Angeles based management, we will be seeing more of NT89 in our neck of the planet. I can’t say anymore right now, but expect more exciting acquisitions from PIE Artists. For now, grab some of his most recent releases below, including the unmasked ‘Arabesque’ remix that was long waiting to be identified, as well as his VIP remix of Babylon that he finally released to the public after requests were through the roof.
