I woke up to a rainy day in Los Angeles, and I couldn’t be happier to share Mr. Josh Legg’s newest jam with you guys. ’Angeles’ is full of feeling — taking me back to the NightWaves days and putting the emphasis on what Binary is, and who Goldroom is, down to the soul. The new jam is full of euphoric groove, and it’ll massage all the right places. As an added bonus, we did a little Q & A with the man so you guys can get some background on the project as a whole. Without further adieu…

This Saturday we will gather at the hip and swanky rooftop of the Downtown LA Standard Hotel for the official launch of MindTai, a collaborative project involving some of our closest friends in the extended GDD family. The website is basically a collaboration of cool. Mindtai’s goal is to tickle your creative fruits through posting only the raddest of content covering categories such as: Music, Surf, Skate, Culture, Art, Film, and Fashion, just to name a few. They will be teaming up with dubFrequency and The Ampal Creative to bring to you the 2nd installment of No Shirt / No Shoes. What better place to get all the creative juices flowing than such a radicool atmosphere. We will combine forces with all of our friends, as well as those who inspire us and will be inviting them to enjoy the sun-kissed rays and funky beats. If you want to meet some interesting people, feast your chops on some eye-candy, and dance the soles off your All-Star’s and flip-flops I’d consider making it down.
The GDD extended family is huge, and we love you all!
Here’s what went down at the last one:
There will be free Jell-O shots as well as give-aways from The Ampal Creative!
When: Saturday, May 14th, 1pm-7pm.
Where: The Standard Downtown LA. 550 S. Flower at 6th St.
Why: Free Ampal Creative giveaways, free Jell-O shots, beer specials, and it will RULE!

In our 2010 Roundup, the good Dr. Schlongo & I included a section in our post entitled “Big in 2011: The Sounds of the Future”, which listed artists we predicted would have monster 2011s. One band included on that list (and delivering thus far on our prediction) are dance rockers Glasnost. Glasnost are releasing their new single, “Corridor”, via Robot Dance Records this week and the single includes a superior trio of remixers: Midnight Conspiracy, NightWaves & Kids at the Bar. They’ll also be doing live shows @ at SXSW, so if you are gettin’ down at SXSW this year, be sure to catch them here.
Along with “Corridor” and the remixes below, be sure to go onto their Soundcloud and check out the stellar lineup of remixes Glasnost has done for Metric, Tiga, La Roux and many others (the Rick James one is super dope). After the tuneage, meet the band and check out the interview…
