Italian-born, Los Angeles resident, Congorock, has just released the remix pack for his smasher ‘Ivory’ on Ultra Music today, and it’s suited with an all-star cast of producers including Laidback Luke, The Bloody Beetroots, Mumbai Science, and NT89. Pretty darn serious. Each remix is great on its own as well. Laidback Luke’s new rendition is more of an edit, staying true to Rocco’s initial arrangement while deepening and darkening the original with some additional heavy bass. The Bloody Beetroots stay true to their grungy Electro roots, while Mumbai Science and NT89 bring on the Techno in a big way. Stream the whole EP and take a look at Congorock’s North American tour in June after the jump, and make sure to pick up the EP on Beatport pronto! √+Continue Reading
The third and final installment of the Unified Theory trilogy from the Belgian duo Mumbai Science features two tracks, Chemistry and Alchemy that are a nice blend of house and techno. I must say that this final installment is my favorite; it just gives me my much-needed dark and acid vibes. Both tracks are huge and are a must get!
If the rapidly rising Italian producer, NT89, isn’t on your radar just yet, it will be after you soak in his latest release out on Bad Life Records, Payne EP. Deep, dark, and grungy are the first adjectives that come to mind after listening to the 3 track EP, complete with two originals and a remix from Bang Gang/Mad Decent rep, Obi Blanche. Already picking up hype from Mumbai Science, Bobmo, Paul Chambers, and more, I’m pretty sure we might even witness the big guns like Tiga and Erol playing out this Future Techno masterpiece known as Payne. Pick it up on Beatport now.
Crookers will be heading out on tour to the United States this September to coincide with their new album being released on Southern Fried, and just this week, they’ve released the remix package for their big Dr. Gonzo hit, ‘The Gonzo Anthem,’ equipped with remixes from Mumbai Science, Sinden, Will Bailey, and a whole heap of others. Preview all of them below and head over to Beatport to pick up the whole thing. In addition, Crookers will be headlining CONTROL at the Avalon in Hollywood on September 16th which also happens to be BONES’ birthday, so come on out for the Crookers’ Avalon debut and birthday festivities!

As summer chugs along and the dog days approach the temperature only continues to rise out here on the Best Coast. Expect a massive heat wave to hit this Thursday though as the mad Belgian scientists known as Mumbai Science descend upon the Mile High City to start their mini 2011 Summer Tour that will see them lighting up clubs from the Rockies to the Bay to the Border as they drop festival firestarters like ‘Ancova‘ & ‘Gold‘ in intimate venues like our very own Versus (August 4th!)

Along the way they’ll be getting support from longtime GDD™ backed Canadian John Roman, Aussie insane-asylum-escapees Bareback DJ’s, the lovely Brazzabelle, our very own ///BONES and various local talent in each city. Our good friend John Roman has just released his Sala EP today on Plant Music, and he is being kind enough to give away the b-side to you in full quality! The track, ‘War Drums,’ has already received support from many producers including Mr. Theo Keating, AKA Fake Blood, who very eloquently pointed out the obvious, stating, “You can’t not dance to this.” We’re also excited to be in the works of collaborating with PIE Artists for a tour for John this July and August where he’ll be supporting the amazing Belgian duo, Mumbai Science, with dates from SD to SF already booked up! Make sure to keep up on John’s Facebook and head on over to Beatport to pick up the full Sala EP release today!
Pay attention kiddos, big tunes ahead! In this week’s edition of “The Dirt,” we are proud to present the incredibly talented, Linus Eklow, aka Style of Eye. The Stockholm native is known for his eclectic sound, which stylistically utilizes a fresh blend of techno, house and a healthy dose of raw, grinding electro. He has had a considerable amount of success with releases on Dirtybird Records, whom you’ll recall from the from Claude VonStroke/Justin Martin CONTROL at Avalon last Friday. With support from some of dance music’s biggest names (John Dahlback, Tiga, and Swedish House Mafia to name a few), Style Of Eye is on track to fulfilling DJ Mag’s prediction of becoming an “Important Future Star.” We predict he will continually blow us away with innovative productions, pumping DJ sets and generally just being a really cool guy. Most of these are unreleased or brand new so read more for streams of his top tracks with my commentary after the jump…
If you’ve been sleeping on Mumbai Science please do yourself a favor and wake the fuck up. Sorry for being so blunt, but if massive support from the likes of Boys Noize, Erol Alkan, and 2manyDJs hasn’t piqued your interest then I don’t know how else to draw your attention to the fact that these two Belgian scientists are hotter than a Bunsen burner and here to stay.
Grab the mixtape they put together just for you dirty dancers and make sure to peruse my chit-chat with Jonas and Maarten below and get to know ‘em, cause they’re your new favorite duo.
