It’s been a long time coming dear GDD™ nation, but we’re finally making our way into New York City for some partytime. We’ve teamed up with the awesome folks over at Matte for an unbelievable event this Saturday, July 14th, with DJ sets from Kill Paris and Moon Boots — two artists that we have supported for a while and are at the top of their respective games. Tropical vibes and dirty dancing will be ever-prevalent at Cameo Gallery in Brooklyn for this one, and we would love to see our much appreciated friends in New York come out.

Fixtapes are Mixtapes geared specifically for your ride. This tape is about constant motion and positive vibes to keep your legs cranking while your heart is pumping. It’s a new series by the Sole Bicycle guys which will feature a new artist every month resulting in quite an awesome compilation. I, Tropicool, was lucky enough to kick things off with Volume One. Enjoi!

Little Boots gets the official remix treatment by the mysterious out-of-this-world producer, Moon Boots. 2 pairs of boots are always better than one, so expect a spicy rendition with Pete’s patented synth and thick bouncy bass. Hope you guys like tasty chords and interstellar sounds. Grab it for free below!
The first warm kisses of summer’s lips are upon us, and we’re releasing the tension in style on Thursday at Bardot in Miami. French Express bossman and nouveau-tropical wunderboy Perseus cruises down with label mate Moon Boots for their first Magic City appearance alongside Pirate Stereo and myself. Doors swing wide at 10pm and pre-sale tickets are available for $12 online. Here’s a little taste of Moon Boot’s brand new tune ‘Monsoon Season’ that is forthcoming on Deep & Disco Records July 9th.
The crusader of cool, Mr. Chris Malinchak just polished off the finishing touches on his 3rd studio EP from the awesome French label, French Express. The label happens to be home to feel-good kings and GDD™ favorites: Jonas Rathsman, Perseus, & Moonboots to name a few. Chris’ new album features 5 tracks bringing back the funk while offering just the right amount of diversity. The title track “There I Was (Again)” is absolutely amazing, but I have to say my loyalty lies with “Fuego”, the track that was featured on The Magician‘s previous Magic Tape. Check out streaming of the entire EP after the jump!
For the 72nd installment of The Dirt, I’m teaming up with GDD’s newest member Tamara Sky, who also happens to be my sister in Overthrow. We’ve packed together some of our secret weapons to kick-start your summer indulgences. If you get really turned on by Tamara’s picks, you can catch her tonight at VERSUS. 10 tracks for download after the jump.
If you are now a stranger to Zimmer, it will not be for long. The king of horizontal disco will soon be giving your girlfriend hard nips and make her hips move like the Caribbean Queen. His infectious beats are both soothing, yet funky, and are a breath of fresh air from the EDM norm. He is currently represented by North America’s premiere Disco label, Vitalic Noise, and has no plans of slowing down. I had a chance to kick it with him for a couple days and get the inside scoop on the future / past / and present of everything “Zimmer”. As an added bonus, he’s dropped off his newest mix tape and Horizontal Disco Remix Package which is incredibly amazing featuring the works of: Moullinex, Moon Boots, Broke One, Xinobi, Mercury, & Lou Teti.

The mystery track on this month’s Magic Tape 21 was unveiled today. It was “Got Somebody” by Moon Boots. However, no SoundCloud listener gets to claim the “I’M-SO-COOL-FOR-DISCOVERING-THE-ENTIRE-ACCURATE-TRACKLIST-FIRST” prize because Moon Boots himself was the one to properly identify the song. Nice try SoundCloud Nancy Drews…you’ll get’em next time.
“The waves ≠ raves consists of hand-picked gems that inspire us, tickling and tempting our creative juices. Some are old, some are new, but it is what we are listening to now. They are groovey, flowing, and sun-kissed just like that perfect wave. They are uplifting and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. They sound the best with a babe in one hand, a cold brewski in the other, and the sand beneath your feet. Stay Dreamy.”
