Since his recent emergence, the rising tropical house specialist, Bearson, has been racking up SoundCloud plays, reaching over 2 million on his assortment of chilled-out remixes. Clearly, this 19-year-old is carving out his own place on an international stage as he follows in the footsteps of his fellow Norwegian, Kygo. After dropping his remix of The Lighthouse and the Whaler’s “Venice” last week, Bearson is quick to the draw, delivering a refreshing guest mix of sun-kissed house that’ll keep the Fall season at bay, as long as you’re listening.

Around this time last year, we premiered the first mix from the Belgium-based house music duo known as Arches. Since then, we’ve continued our support while they’ve released top-quality music like their new There’s A Place EP on Columbia Records, and their fresh remix of Keisza’s “Giant In My Heart.” We though it was about time for an Arches guest mix feature, so they’ve delivered a stand out mix featuring the latest and greatest house music of their own, as well as tunes from Duke Dumont, Redlight, Just Kiddin, Friend Within, Moon Boots, and more.
A couple of years ago, some friends took me to the famed weekly party, Low End Theory, to see one of the LA beat scene’s emerging artists, Astronautica. Although it was a while back, I still vividly remember her fantastic set, and it was this memory that spurred me to enlist her for our guest mix series. Since dropping her vibey Waikiki EP on Alpha Pup a few months ago, she’s been quiet on the release front, but she’s been staying busy with studio sessions in between tour dates. Now Astronautica delivers a smooth and eclectic mix of jams to help you get through the day in a positive way. If you’re around in LA this Friday, catch her live at The Do LaB event with Dimond Saints!

Sweet, Sweet, disco nectar delivered strait to your door. This sun-kissed ultra funky mix mutates & cultivates the vibes of Tropicool‘s essence in the South Bay. Everything is in full bloom, the birds, bees, and the myrts feel it. The sand is warm and the micheladas are frosty. Poseidon is holding a conch shell to his ear, and the vibration station is starting to reverberate. Perv and swerve, because for this one, you’re meant to loose control while on cruise control.
Exclusive Tracklisting After Jump
Every month, The Magician releases a Magic Tape without a track list. Each time, listeners across the land try to be the first one to solve the case & figure out every song in the mix. But every time, without fail, there’s always one or two mystery tracks that stump the listeners. This month, our boy Moon Boots was the man responsible for the mystery remix on Magic Tape Thirty. While most listeners knew that the third song on Magic Tape Thirty was “Gold” by Bondax, nobody was quite sure who the remixer was. Once they found out, the reaction was a collective “Ah, I should’ve known it was him”. To nobody’s surprise, they knew it was going to be somebody they loved.
Moon Boots’ remix of “Gold” is classy and sophisticated, the kind of speakeasy house music that you put on a suit and tie for…or your sexiest cocktail dress. No cheap whiskey & ripped tees for this one. A song like this must be accompanied with a bottle of your finest. And a gold watch of course.
Smooth + elegant…
The protectors of feel-good music are hard at work once again. American label, French Express, has made it customary to give damn good music out for free on a regular basis, and this week’s gem comes from GDD™ fav Moon Boots. Sensual, smooth vocals are matched with a swift bassline, allowing for whispy leads to set the table for an overall groover. Thanks as always French Express!

Event details & Tunes After the Jump
The summer heat has been in full force here in Los Angeles, and what better than a new remix to either help you simmer down or keep things groovin’. Moon Boots has given Alison Valentine‘s “Peanut Butter” his signature tropical treatment that refreshingly ventures away from the usual four-on-the-floor house beat. Have a listen and download the track after the jump, but before that, here’s an interesting story on how this remix came about:
“Back in June when Perseus and Jonas Rathsman and I played Wanderlust in Paris, we met Alison Valentine, a singer and flowergirl from NYC. I’ll never forget that she brought flowers to the show. She brought me flowers, I made her a remix… ” – Moon Boots
