Crawling into the land of the living on Hallows eve, the creature is back. It took several necessary body parts to create this monster, and so the wait is finally over. I’m excited for this one because it really embodies some of the harder sets I’ve been playing lately, while also premiering some brand spankin new music from the likes of Boys Noize, Dillon Francis, Gesaffelstein, Botnek, Galantis (project trifecta of Savage Skulls, Miike Snow, Style Of Eye) and many more.  The season is upon us, so listen to this and cause some mischief and mayhem, wake the dead, dance with the devil, get high, get mid, get low – pick your poison dirty dancers, and Happy Halloween.

After a heavy weekend of bashing my ears to death, they were absolutely delighted to hear this Flight Facilities mix of Miike Snow. A minute and a half in and I already got a sense that this was going to be a summer favorite of a mine in the same way I would get excited to hear a new Cut Copy track. Now almost half way through 2012, I probably wouldn’t be surprised to see it end up on a few charts at the end of the year.

The music video for Miike Snow‘s new single, ‘The Wave,’ was unveiled today, and it is oddly brilliant — or brilliantly odd. Either way, Director Andreas Nillson (who also directed the video for ‘Paddling Out‘) does a marvelous job of storytelling through video and cinematography, and Miike Snow’s ‘The Wave’ acts as a perfect audial complement to the visual component. Read on for the plot description. Continue Reading

Treasure Fingers, the Atlanta bred DJ/Producer influenced by 80′s, Funk, and Disco, has been continuously dropping his own gems for quite sometime now, and his name is always equivalent with great dance music and constant ass shaking :D .  You might remember him from his remixes for Empire of the Sun (Walking On a Dream), Miike Snow (Animal) & Tensnake (Coma Cat). Just in time to get your spring vibe on, he’s back with a new EP titled Rooftop Revival, fresh from the Scion A/V StudiosContinue Reading

aRod previously covered the Jacques Lu Cont remix of Miike Snow’s “Paddling Out,” but this time around it’s a remix of “Devil’s Work” by the Canadian trio, Keys N Krates. They strive for innovation by bridging the gap between electronic music & live instrumentation, along with the manipulation of turntablism. I really enjoy their formula of combining different musical elements to create their own sound, and this remix is a perfect example of that. With classic 808 sounds and solid synths, it has a sophisticated hip-hop vibe that is quite refreshing.

I am quite pleased that Stuart Price is back in a big way so far in 2012.  Mr. Price, aka Jacques Lu Cont (also doing business as Thin White Duke, Paper Faces, Les Rythmes Digitales, et al) has written/produced songs for some of the biggest names in dance music (Madonna, New Order, Scissor Sisters, Kylie Minogue, The Killers) as well as being responsible for some of the greatest dance remixes of ALL TIME (namely these three dancefloor masterpieces by Missy Elliott, Madonna & Felix da Housecat).
