Since launching Slap & Tickle 15 weeks ago at the Electric Pickle in Miami, we’re throwing the biggest event yet on July 3rd with a 12 hour marathon of tunes. We’ve teamed up with SAFE to bring in the legendary house producer/DJ Danny Howells (Dig Deeper/London) who has confirmed that he’ll be playing upstairs for at least five hours. Outside, we’ve organized live performances from Kurtz & Bomber, Le Blorr, and Millionyoung. In support will be a supreme line-up of all the Slap & Tickle guests from the last few months. We’re opening doors at 5pm with a BBQ and free beer until 8pm, so get your 4th of July celebrations started early. For more info, click HERE.

The first warm kisses of summer’s lips are upon us, and we’re releasing the tension in style on Thursday at Bardot in Miami. French Express bossman and nouveau-tropical wunderboy Perseus cruises down with label mate Moon Boots for their first Magic City appearance alongside Pirate Stereo and myself. Doors swing wide at 10pm and pre-sale tickets are available for $12 online. Here’s a little taste of Moon Boot’s brand new tune ‘Monsoon Season’ that is forthcoming on Deep & Disco Records July 9th.
A few months ago, GDD launched the first Slap & Tickle at Miami’s favorite underground dance venue The Electric Pickle. Every Tuesday, the lure of $2 tequila shots and deep grooves swept through the city and manifested itself into one steamy dance party. Tomorrow night, we pick up the pace with Australian headliner BENI. Affiliated with Modular and Bang Gang imprints, his unique brand of house and techno was a shoe-in for our debut headliner. We kick things off tomorrow at 10pm with residents Troy Kurtz, Pirate Stereo, and Santiago Cabellero. Tickets will be $10 at the door. Click here for more info.

It’s an age-old illness of the mind. Once the clock strikes March, there’s only one thing on our minds here at GDD™ and that one thing never seems to disappoint. We’re talkin’ MIAMI. This year Troy Kurtz, jonahberry, BONES, and burn unit made their way down to the Magic City for Electronic Music’s annual non-vacation vacation. Here’s some of the best of what we caught during the week. Continue Reading
We begin the week-long WMC marathon sprinting out of the gates at Bardot tomorrow night for our first ever GDD Showcase featuring Maxxi Soundsytem, Cassian, Plastic Plates, Finger Prince, Mickey, Pirate Stereo, and myself. In addition to that lineup, it’s been rumored that Jonah, Burn Unit, and ///Bones have formed a neo-tropical super group and could potentially be going live tomorrow. We’ll just have to wait and find out. Pre-sale tickets are up for only $10 and doors swing wide at 10pm.

In trying to keep up with the boys out in LA, I’ve been busy in trying to organize more GDD events in Miami. Our weekly Slap & Tickle party on Tuesday’s at Electric Pickle has become quite a hot little dance party (maybe in part to $2 tequila shots) that’s encouraged me to get some more events happening. On Thursday, GDD teams up with the good folks at Poplife, Super Music Group, and Grand Central to bring you two rooms of good vibes. Amtrac and Brass Knuckles will be headlining the main room, and I’ll be headlining upstairs in The Garret, debuting a bunch of new stuff I’ve been trying to finish before WMC. The show is 21+ and starts at 11pm. Pick up pre-sale tickets here.
We’re proud to announce that GDD has teamed up with The Electric Pickle in Miami to launch our weekly Tuesday night party called Slap & Tickle, which launches tomorrow night at 11pm. The Electric Pickle is undoubtedly the premier venue in Miami for underground dance music (just check out their WMC line-up) and we are extremely stoked to breathe some life back in the Miami weeknight party circuit. Check out the promo mixes that residents Pirate Stereo, Santiago Caballero, and myself have curated. We look forward to meeting our MIA GDD fam tomorrow (PS NO COVER!)
The Space Ibiza resident DJ Danny Marquez drops into Miami for set at Arkadia in the Fontainebleau Hotel tonight for the weekly Disco Sh!t party. The Spanish DJ has held residencies all over Ibiza, and launched his big room house imprint ‘F1rst Records’ in 2011. I’ll be supporting the veteran house DJ tonight once the doors open at 10pm. Here’s my latest mix to get you fired up for the weekend.
With the Miami Winter Music Conference approaching, Defected Records will release their annual In The House Miami compilation this month.
Defected launched the Miami-focused In The House series in 2006, beginning with an edition mixed by label boss Simon Dunmore. Since then they’ve put out a new mix in the lead-up to the WMC each year. For In The House Miami ’12, Defected have enlisted Danish DJ and producer Noir, Treasure Fingers and Franky Rizardo. The latter two artists lean toward the more pop-friendly end of the spectrum, while Noir adds a comparatively underground flavor to the package with tracks from PillowTalk, Tevo Howard and his own hit with Solomun, “Around.”
Catch the tracklist after the jump.
