LAVO Las Vegas and Marquee Las Vegas have joined forces with Insomniac Events to host an unprecedented array of the world’s top-tier underground artists for the Las Vegas Loves Techno event series as a part of EDC Week, June 20th – June 24th. This series marks a new era in the Las Vegas music scene as LAVO and Marquee are pioneering the deviation from dance music’s status quo.
By hosting acts such as the Dirtybird label head, Claude VonStroke, the legendary Carl Cox, Sasha, and equally prolific Dubfire, among others, LAVO and Marquee Las Vegas display their all-embracing ideals that establish them as tastemakers with a forward-thinking mentality. They are pushing the boundaries of typical music programming within Sin City to bring something fresh and distinctive to their loyal patrons.
Yesterday, VICE announced the launch of their newest platform. An electronic music culture website and youtube channel called THUMP. To kick off the launch they debuted several videos covering artists, music and behind the scenes perspectives – one of which mirrored my post last week on Claude VonStroke at Marquee. Check out the video above to see what it’s like behind the booth and a glimpse into the mind of the master mixer!

Ever since the Marquee Nightclub reopened in New York last month, people have been bugging me to go. Literally everyone…it’s kind of ridiculous how many people want me to review this place. Aside from other obligations, I don’t really have a reason for not going, except for the fact that it’s not really my scene and expensively-clad, drunk, assholes are annoying. I also always choose music over venue, so that’s just me. But, I finally decided to check the place out last Saturday while Gareth Emery was in town to perform. Find out what went down below…
